We’re pleased to announce Steve H. from Rancho Cucamonga, CA is our MVO for March! Steve, a.k.a. TheNewNeko, is thrilled to join the honored ranks of Most Valuble Oodlers. Steve’s got TONS of game tips for everyone this month – so read on to learn more! And don’t forget to congratulate him!
“Oh wow! I got a Golden Oodle! This is incredible! I’d like to thank the Academy, my friends, and those fifteen cheerleaders in Standard Party Attire™. You guys are amazing. I’ve been a member of these boards for nine years and started the Oodle program when it was inaugurated, and now I have a Golden Oodle to keep with my new Xbox, my weather station and my Blu-Ray player. I actually played for a TV, but eventually the price of the TV got so out of hand I couldn’t get it.
You want a few game tips? Here’s some stuff you might not know. In Catch-21, eleven brings heaven. Look for combos of two cards (7/4, 6/5, 8/3, 9/2) that total 11. Then hit it with a 10 card and you’re on your way. Of course, a perfect score can’t be attained by just doing 11’s. You need to hit the “blackjack attacks” on empty columns and get one 5-card Charlie to get the perfect score. If you do it right, you’ll have a 2 left over. If I remember correctly, one of the 21’s involves a 6, 7 and 8 also.
Diner Dash uses progressive points to make your score jump. Try starting a new game until you can seat a bunch of patrons right away. If you don't get six customers by the second round of serving, you will want to hit "new game". If you seat all six sets of customers, You’ll earn 21 times as many points for serving them. So instead of 20 points for taking their orders, you’ll earn 20 x 21, or 420 points. You can do this for taking orders (20 x 21), serving (30 x 21), dropping checks (50 x 21) and cleaning dishes (40 x 21). Don’t forget color matching, as those can equal big points near the end. Also, make Flo move in a circle if you can while doing this, either counterclockwise or clockwise. You’ll do everything quicker because she’ll just go 1, 2, clear, 3, 4, clear, 5, 6, clear… The checks you can drop all six at the same time without having to clear your hands.
Eggz has a nice glitch that you’ll like. As soon as the round starts, hit “Submit Score” then it will ask you if you want to be sure. Hit “No” right away and the game will resume, and you’ll save roughly three or four tenths of a second on the recycle time for each shot. This is PER SHOT. The more times you shoot, the more time you’ll save of that precious five minutes, so you can get much further than if you don’t try this trick (level 8 should be high enough to get a good score). Also, the game is about speed. Try to hit the back wall as soon as possible. If you still have 3 silver bombs when you start Level 6, you’ll be well on your way to getting a huge score.
One more game you can get good at in a hurry is Alu’s Revenge. Remember: The first time you play, the game will give you a score of zero, so if you play this, give up right away and then play again. But the second time keep as many of one color together as you can while trying to get rid of the other three until you get the alarm. Also remember: If you run out of time in each round, it treats it like there are no more moves. This is actually a good thing, because you’ll have earned as many points as you could in the 90 seconds you have for each round. This is hard to do in rounds four, five and six, but it’s well worth it because your score will be big.
All in all, earning Oodles is a fun and free way to earn nice stuff and who knows, maybe one day the people at GSN will give me a nice big 55” LED TV so I can watch their shows on it. Make it a 3D, because if you get another cutie like Shandi starring on one of your shows, I want it to appear like she’s making me iced tea in my living room.”
