Best host went to Ben Bailey for Cash Cab, who beat out Wayne Brady, Billy Eichner, Alex Trebek, Steve Harvey, and Wayne Brady.

Monty's tribute got cut short for his Lifetime Achievement Award. Wayne Brady introduced him and gave some of his pre-LMAD and LMAD bios, they then showed a one second snippet of Odd COuple and then decided not to do the video tribute on the live broadcast.

John Ricci, Jr. has posted a bevy of new videos to his YouTube channel, jricci9, and two of which are compilations of clips from unsold pilots to two different game shows you might have heard of.

The first is the Match Game pilot from 2008, shot on a modified version of the Game$how Marathon set. Personally I don't think it's that bad overall, other than the whole thing feeling kind of cheap, but I feel they really missed the target with their choice of emcee: MADtv's Andrew Daly, who here is an unfunny over-the-top game show host caricature. See for yourself here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgCMa3Y0Hyg

The second is a video combining Winner's Circle moments from two of the 2009-2010 unsold Pyramid pilots. The first is from Andy Richter's TBS pilot, which can't decide if it wants to be called The $500,000 Pyramid or The $25,000 Pyramid, and... really doesn't deserve the "Pyramid" name anyway (though the Winner's Circle is surprisingly faithful). The second is from the CBS-commissioned The $1,000,000 Pyramid, which is reasonably better-looking then the TBS pilot, but... Tim Vincent? Really? See all the horrible judging here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv4QpbeCv10

What do you guys think?

Changes you would like to see for Season 31 on Wheel of Fortune

Can you believe that we got another Million Dollar Winner this season? It's been 5 years since that last happened, and the first time since the budget-saving changes of Season 27 were made. Season 30 is coming to a close, what changes would you like to see for Season 31? Here are mine:

The Wild Card should not be taken away when Bankrupt is hit.

For the Million Dollar Wedge, you get to keep it if someone else solves the puzzle in the round you pick it up.

Only one Bankrupt on the wheel in round 1, and in round 4 onward.

Move the Free Play space so it isn't so close to a penalty wedge (right now, there's a Lose A Turn 2 spaces clockwise from it and a Bankrupt two spaces counterclockwise from it). There was a contestant who hit Free Play five times in a row, picking all the vowels. That's rare -- all five vowels bought at no cost. But, shortly after, he hit the nearby Lose A Turn.

Bring back the Free Spin, but keep Free Play. And award $500 per letter with it.

Award $500 per letter with the Million Dollar Wedge. Do you remember when, in Season 29, someone called a T, which appeared 10 times in the puzzle, after landing on this wedge? That was the worst waste of a consonant ever.

Move the $5,000 space to Round 3. And keep the $650 space.

Prizes that are picked up, but were Bankrupted or not won, should go back on the wheel in the next round (not after round 3).

Less $30,000 envelopes on the bonus wheel, obviously. Some of them could be replaced with $35,000 or $40,000 envelopes.

As for removing the Prize Puzzle (since most of the time it decides the game), it could be a budget saver, but then, more contestants would be finishing with 4-digit values.

To compensate for the above change, there could be more 4-digit values on the wheel, such as $1,000, $1,250, $1,500, and even $2,000. The second-highest regular value has been $900 since 1996.

Also, for more compensation, if someone makes it to the Bonus Round with less than $10,000, but does not solve the puzzle, bump their score up to $10,000.

Plus, if a player solves one puzzle in the whole game, but finishes with less than $2,000, bump their score to $2,000.

If the Prize Puzzle is kept, it should offer a non-trip prize more often, and not be very expensive. Also, since a number of contestants have solved a Prize Puzzle with no cash, there should be a cash minimum for Prize Puzzles (maybe $1,000); recently, it happened four consecutive times in one week.

And what about any changes related to the Speed-Up round? The three spaces immediately clockwise from the top dollar value (most often hit in the Final Spin) are now $500, $900, and $700. Do you think that those values should remain or change? Maybe for a budget-saver, they could reduce it back to what it was before ($600, $500 and $300).

Less theme weeks, hopefully.

Maybe have special "Second Chance" weeks, where contestants who were notable victims of bad luck can redeem themselves. Events that could cause a contestant to come back for one of these weeks may include, but are not limited to:

Rarely getting to play (e.g. Valerie, from the first episode of the 1996-1997 season, who spun once, hit Lose A Turn, and didn't even get to call a letter!)

Hitting Lose A Turn or calling a wrong letter after doing a lot of work on a puzzle, forfeiting their bank for the round (e.g. the contestant named Precious who solved "Precious Cargo" in the Bonus Round, or Cat, who won the $100,000; also, Sharonda from 11/5/12)

Really costly missolves (e.g. "Seven Swans a-Swimmin'", "Gleaming White Sand Beaches")

Being the victim of a speed-up comeback under unfavorable conditions (e.g. the "Stunning Turn of Events" round from 2/19/13 where the second-place contestant had the Million Dollar Wedge, or even the $12,345 win with a $147 winning margin from 1/1/10)

Contestants who were just short of going to the Bonus Round (e.g. the contestant who was in second place by $50 from 12/14/11)

What are some changes that you want to see?

Triple Threat: Which version do you like better?

Triple Threat is a game show about music, movies, and television that spans three generations. Since episodes of both versions are now on YouTube, you can compare the versions by watching the episodes at the links below:

1988 syndicated version with Jim Lange:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS-AfVOWJ90

1992 BET version with Spencer Christian:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpH9eZcWtHU

Which version's theme song do you like better? The 1988 one, or the BET one? I like them both equally. Both theme songs are quite catchy! I hope to see them sometime on TVPMM.

Which relay round board do you like better? The BET one is better, because the Out of Play section is bigger; it includes the bottom as well as the sides.

Out of these two versions, which one do you like better overall?

Do you think that Triple Threat needs to be revived sometime? I think so.
