For 4 seasons, it has become an American Institution. Now...we're going stateside. The Americans: Meghan Ashley, Patrick Kane, Justine Ezarik aka iJustine and Alex Shelley. They will wage war against the Brits: Jimmy Carr, Fearne Cotton, Kerry Katona and Jason Bradbury. One team against another team. Who will blast them off to victory? For this....is Videogame Marathon: Stateside.

(show open; big band-ish version of theme song)

(cue robot arms playing action, adventure, sports, RPG and puzzle before zapping teh show's logo; flash to studio; applause)

The hottest TV tournament just got bigger and better. Now, let's meet our host, Ronilyn Reilly!

(applause; ROnilyn walks in the door)

Ronilyn: How are you guys doing? Welcome to Videogame Marathon. (silence) In just a moment, you're about to see 4 americans against 4 brits in a battle to determine who's the best gamer of them all. But before we do, let's give you a few new changes with the new season. Each player will be assigned points per featured game. 25 is awarded to the person who wins teh game amd another 25 is for the MVP of teh game. Also, more points are begin awarded in tournament-style formats, but i'll explain later. The 2 teams with 2 players that have the most points will go on to the post-season. In it, They'll have a elimination-style bracket where the top 2 gamers play for $150,000 for one winner's charity. Now we got this all out of the way, let's begin today's contest, and it begins with a smash.

(cue segment)

Jim: Ever since it came on to N64, Super Smash Bros. pitted Mario against Luigi, Peach against Donkey Kong, Bowser against Sonic, or...whomever against whomever. The object was to go mano a mano with 3 lives remaining. Lose 1 and you're out. 3 of those and it's off to the showers. Plus, there are objectives to keep you off the pace and gain advnatges. With a slew of characters, the game even had themes from past NES games. The Super Smash Bros. series was a way to put up a fight with Nintendo characters from past and present.

(action)

Now, let's smash up with Super Smash Bros.

(applause; teenage bedroom transforms into fight area)

Ladies & Gentlemen, fremantle Media in assocation with United Paramount Televsion, presents a night of Smashing and bashing. Introducing first, playing for the Susan G. kommen Breast Cancer Foundation, her hobbies include harp playing, comic books and....fire-eating? It's Meghan Ashley! (appaluse) her opponent, playing for The Shannon Bradshaw Trust, once a singer of a band, now taking a band of her own, it's Kerry Katona!

READY....GO!!!!

(both start fighting)

And away they go, they're in teh mushroom Kingdon, Meaghan tresi to duck and...(Kerry falls off) Oh, Kerry off the rils, 2 to go for her. Kerry comes back and hits the spinaroonie.....splat! Meghan is down but not out.....Whoa! Kerry misses and Meghan fires back....She's otu! 1 more! Kerry cmeos back with an attack of her own.....(Kerry uses special) and gets her out. 2 for her left. Kerry tries to do it again....but this time Meghan domintes her to take Kerry out, 3-2.

Check out Meghan's kicks and flurries one more time, oh, she hits it liek it came out of a cannon.

jim: Onward we go into the new season of VGM. Next match features these 2 players. For America, first, playing for Hockey Fights Cancer, he is a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, Patrick Kane! (applause) His opponent, playing for Sport Relief, a comic and actor, Jimmy carr! (applause)

READY....GO!!!!

(both start fighting)

The dogfight has begun. Carr comes out swinging, but Kane takes out teh punishment with a few hits of his own. Oh, off the plane he goes, 1 down for Carr. Carr comes back with a dose of his own medicine...and gets Kane thrown off. We're all tied up. Kane, trying to come back from the jaws of voctory....Yes! He takes it in a back & forth race and it looks like.. (Kane throws Carr off plane) Kane gets him out of here, 1 mroe for Carr and he's gone. Rememberm we're in Corneria and Kane wants to take this one sitting down.....KABOOM! 3 strikes and Carr is out swinging.

Watch Jimmy carr fall off the airplane twice. Ouch. I wouldn't want to do that Skydiving.

So Patrick Kane gets 25 and the Americans are rocking hard. On to the next match. First off, for the Americans playing for Comic Relief, the television and radio personality, Fearne COtton! (applause) her opponent, playing for teh TJ Martell foundation, she may be known as Justine Ezarik, but it's just IJustine! (applause)


READY....GO!!!!

(both start fighting)

And it's a catfight at the Game & Watch arena. iJustine off to a good start...oh, falls off one of the lit platforms making Fearne Cotton pay for it. Ouch! And gets an advantage 1-0. iJustine trying to fight back, uses one of the power-ups...and blasts her to smithereens. 2-0. One mroe and it's a sweep for the Brits, in which Fearne is loking for her first points on the board. Uese some firepower, this could get interesting.....YES! a sweep! FEarne wins this one!

As the replay shows, she did everything she could to knock her opponent off the lit platforms.

Fearne gets 25 and finally wins for teh brits, but we got one last match before the battle royale coming up.

We're back for the final match before the big battle royal for 50 points. To do that, we must fill a spot in the match with Meghan, Fearne and Patrick locked in. Here we go with the final preliminary match. First, for the americans, playing for the Musculat Dystrophy Association, he is one half of teh Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley! (applause) Playing for the Yound Adult library Services, Authour and Gadget guy repping the Brits, give it up for jason Bradbury! (applause)

READY....GO!!!!

(both start fighting)

Last match before the battole royal and it's on!!!! Jason Bradbury tries to fire, but Shelley counters. And....(Shelley throws Bradbuery opff) Later, bald guy! Hello, no bald guy! Shelley up, 1-0. Bradbury playing offense now, and Shelley reverses. His wrestling skills have been paying off very well. Shelley pounds him out and it's 2-0. Time is almost running out.....5 seconds and Shelley could win this one.....

TIME!!!!

And shelley takes this one by a score of 2-0.

The replay has to see why Shelley is a good wrestler and a good technician.

25 goes to Shelley and we have the big battle royal set. Shelley, Ashley, Cotton and Kane. When we coem back, it's be a fatal 4-way for all the marbles.

Gameheadz, good way to start Video Game Marathon 5 because it's the UK vs. America which is reality TV's American Revolution, and yes if this happens we would have also aired on ITV because they aired Gameshow Marathon (first hosted by Ant & Dec then Vernon Kay), so i can't wait that the final game of the final episode of Video Game Marathon 5 would be get this, Tecmo Super Bowl!

And by the way continue on with it Gameheadz the battle has started i want America to win the Finale!, GO USA & CANADA!

Meghan: I'm pretty nervous about the whole battle royal. You got 4 players and it's a war to wage. I want my Americans to win for the team.

Fearne: The British are about to kick some butt. We are ready.

Alex: I'm about to do this. It's like being in teh main event, and you got millions of people watching on network television.

Patrick: I'm abotu ready to dish out teh punishment. Look out!!!!

(flash to action)

Jim: It's 3 amercians against 1 brit in teh final battle royal. This time, it'll be no time limit and the last man standing will win 50 points. 25 for winning teh game and another 25 for teh MVP of the night. Let's get it on!!!!

READY....GO!!!!

(all start fighting)

And this tornado is about to blow. Meghan otu to a good start and oh, Fearne reverses, but Meghan gets a reverse, and Shelley kills Kane with a set of blows. Kane now, on teh comeback, gets Shelley and he is out.

(replay)

Watch Patrick Kane make a big flurry of fists, leaving Alex SHelley out in the cold.

3 are now left and Fearne trying for a spear....no, but Meghan responds with a power-up and...zaps her out.

It's amazing what this fire breather can do. En flambe, Meghan!

Down to 2 and it looks like Meghan goes for teh fire, but nothing doing for Kane. Kane tresi to slash and doesn't get it. Meghan is about to...YES! The pushover sends Patrick Kane out and Meghan Ashley is tonight's MVP. Down to Ronilyn.

Ronilyn: Congratulations, Meghan. Tell me abuot the way it had to end it.

Meghan: Well, I had to try to fight fire...(replay) but Kane backed away. Then, he tried to use his slasher move, but it didn't work, so I psuhed him off the ply area and it was a victory.

Ronilyn: Well, congratulatiosn to you for being teh MVP of the night. Let's look at the scores.

Jim Conroy: 8 players with 4 representing from the USA and the Uk all smashed like bricks when they played Super Smash Bros. And it was a melee. 3 players scored for the USA. Meghan, Patrick and Alex with Fearne getting teh only score for the Uk. Now they must race on teh tracks of zero gravity. Get ready to hang on....For this....is Videogame Marathon: Stateside.

Ronilyn: How are you guys doing? Welcome to Videogame Marathon. (silence) You're about to see 8 players race on a racetrack, but not any racetrack, I'm talking about a racetrack known as....zero Gravity. take a look.

(cue segment)

Jim: One of the first video games to be played on the Playstation, Wipeout took zero gravity racing to the extreme. The object was to be in 1st and dash to victory while you collect power-ups to steer clear of who's taking your spot. Known for it's 3D design and high-energy dance music, Wipeout became futuristic racing for everybody.

(action)

Now, let's race with Wipeout!

(applause; teenage bedroom transforms into a zero garvity racetrack)

They're about ready for zero-gravity racing. In lane 1, Meghan Ashley, Lane 2, Patrick Kane, Lane 3, Alex Shelley and Lane 4, IJustine, all representing the US. For the UK, in lane 5, Fearne Cotton, Jimmy carr on Lane 6, Jason Bradbury in lane 7 and in dead last, it'll be Kerry Katona. They'll use power-ups to twart, or speed things up and the first 4 players to speed past the finish line after 3 laps will earn 25 points. The racer with the most points after 4 races will earn another 25 for the MVP.

Male VO: 3....2...1...GO!!!

(racers take off)

Jim: And they're off! They're headed up the mountain, and Kerry has jumped into 6th place quietly. (Jason uses missle on Patrick) Ouch! Kane gets knocked by Bradbury using a missle and don't hold your breath....they're safe! That jump could be dangerous. Over the 2nd jump and Ashley in 3rd place now fires a rocket....and misses it. (Cotton uses shield) Cotton in 4th place, trying to earn points for the UK giving a shield to help things out. They're heading into the tunnel, it's a lot of manuvering as these racers try to dominate. The lead now goes to ALex Shelley.

[LAP 2]

On the second lap. Shelley still in 1st and (Ashley fires missle at iJustine) Oooh! iJustine becomes a victim of missles and moves up to 2nd. But what's this i see? all of them safe on the first jump. (Carr fires laser at Bradbury) Carr fries Jason with a laser and takes into 5th as they head into the 2nd jump. Here we go, final lap, Ashley still in 1st, she's teh favorite around here on teh Marathon. 4 players trying to use speed to catch up, Cotton, Kane, Bradbury and Katona. No surprise there, Katona comes up to 3rd place as tehy head into teh 2nd jump. Coming out the tunnel and into the finish it looks like...(Ashley crosses line first) Meghan crosses the line first along with Kerry Katona, Fearne Cotton and Patrick Kane. Oh, my!

(cue audience; replay)

As the replay shows, iJustine would be a victim of this missle shot, but Carr shows his laser firing technique you could only see on television. So afetr 1 race:

Jim: We're about set for race 2 of the Wipeout seires. Meghan is lane 1, Kerry in lane 2, Fearne in lane 3 and Patrick in lane 4. Here we go!

Male VO: 3....2...1...GO!!!

(racers take off)

Jim: We're in business. Kerry is out to an early lead heading into the tunnel. Ohh! Take that! Kane jumps out into 2nd and Carr maintants his way into 3rd. Going downhilll....and into a jump. Carr comes close to 2nd place but Kane is not far behind. past 2 jumps...and a big one! Carr is now in 2nd place. Katona still out in the lead, but Ashley retains 4th place.

[LAP 2]

Carr now in 2nd...Oh! Bradbury knock his way up to 3rd place, Carr still reeling from what just happened. iJustine on turbo maintaing his way towards 4th place. Everybody who's playing this game is still in it this season. Direct hit! Cotton now jumps from last to 5th place.

[FINAL LAP]

Shelley maikes a move by firing a laser at Carr and puts him in 5th place, but Cotton is right behind him. It's going to come down to who's making the scoring ranks as teh season goes on. The stretch run, Ashley....dodges a bullet but....(Katina crosses line first) Kerry Katona getting 1st, iJustine in 2nd, Ashley in 3rd and in 4th, Alex Shelley by a whisker.

(cue replay)

CHeck this again: Fearne Cotton tries to manuever his way into 4th, but it was SHelley who done did it by 2 lengths.

(action)

We are back with mroe action and Meghan & Kerry is starting 1st & 2nd respectively. Alex, Fearne, Patrick and iJustine start out 3-6 and Jason & Jimmy start out last. Here we go!

Male VO: 3....2...1...GO!!!

(racers take off)

Jim: Awawy they go! Tackling the big jump...Oh! Meghan maintains her lead and Fearne moves up to 2nd. Going up the cliff to another jump....Oh! Meghan still hangs on in 1st and Alex moves back to 6th following that zap he just took. Going towards the 3 tunnels with teh 2nd one longer, only Jason and iJustine move up towards the position. Oh, Take that! Last placer Jimmy heads up to 5th place. Going for a big jump....Whoa, Megahan is still ahead in 1st, trying to become the first racer to go from start to finish.

[LAP 2]

The first jump is a dooozy, watch out...Oh, Megahn slips ahead to 2nd, giving Fearne the lead, the 2ndf jump....and it looks like Alex heads up to 3rd place. At the 3 tunnels, Jason moves up to 4th place and Everybody else stays in position. Plenty of racing to be had as time goes on. Going towards the last jump...Oh, and he gets blasted by Ijustnie, but she stays in 4th position and heading towards the bumpers is Alex. He takes over the lead as we head for teh final one.

[FINAL LAP]

Going towards the jump....and Megahn regains the lead, but Jason moves ahead to 4th and Jimmy up to 3rd. Anything could still happen. After the big jump and the 3 tunnels, no change in positions yet, but it's still anybody's game. Stretch time now and...Oh, Ijustine with the zapper sending Meghan to 5th place. Can she catch up....nope. It's Patrick in 1st, Jason in 2nd, Jimmy in 3rd and iJustine in 4th.

As you see it again, ijustine takes a shot to Megahn and...WHACK! Right on the noggin, sending her into zero territory. SO after 3 races, the scores are:

(fade-in to replay of final moments of 3rd race)

Ijustine: I needed to get myslef some points on the board and I needed a way to get into 4th place or higher, so I zapped the vehicle of Meghan Ashley and I had to end up in 4th. So I'm prepared for the final race.

Meghan: I was ready to get myself a clean sweep for the night when I got zapped by iJustine and and slipped back to 5th and she was right behind me when the finish line was in sight. But I needed revenge so I can become the MVP for tonight. I'm so ready for it.

(action)

Jim: Alright, gaming fans, it's the final race in the "Wipeout" racing series. With Meghan, iJustine and Kerry all tied up at 50 points, this next race will be for all the marbles and become MVP for tonight's show towards the overall standings. Let's see how that goes.


Male VO: 3....2...1...GO!!!

(racers take off)

Jim: And off tehy go!!!! Going to the aquatic tunnel, iJustine is hanging on in 2nd place and Meghan needs to make up some ground in 5th. Going through another aquatic tunnel, Jason throws the bomb at Kerry, and boosts himself to 3rd place right behind Alex with Mehgan still in 5th.

[LAP 2]

Jimmy tresi to fire a laser, and gets blanked by it. He is in last place, but Meghan moves ahead to 2nd place and Alex goes up to 2nd while iJustine is still in teh lead.

[LAP 3]

Oh, the tension is mounting at these players vie for $150,000 in charity money by the end of teh season. In the 2nd aquatic tunnel, no change to position is made.

[LAP 4]

Oh my! Jason zaps out Alex putting him in 3rd place and Jimmy moves 2 positions ahead from last. We are one lap away!

[FINAL LAP]

Meghan up to 2nd and IJustine is going to be our winner....but not for long. Revenge is sweet by a laser fire. She quickly saves ground into 4th place and Meghan wins the event along with Jason in 2nd and Alex in 3rd. IJustine has to be happy it wasn't 5th place.

As we see again, iJustine was going to win teh whole thing, but Meghan's whole plot on revenge was rounded out by a laser shot. Let's go to Ronilyn for the interview.

(action)

As you can tell, iJustine and Meghan have a rivalry this season on the Marathon, and Meghan, why did you want to have revenge on her?

Meghan: It was all a matter of who's going to be finishing it up, and I think it all a matter of weapons and everybody was going to be winning with the 5th-8th finishers trying for position, so I use a laser and I won the whole thing.

Ronilyn: iJustine, what was your thoughts?

iJustine: I think it was all Meghan. She wanted to get even afetr what happened last race. I was a but disappointed, but I'm glad the season's not over. Elimination is not in the cards for both of us, but everybody is vying for who's going to teh postseason.

Jim Conroy: "Wipeout" was racing that definitely wasn't for bike riders anymore. Everybody wanted to score, but Meghan Ashley and iJustine became high scorers in the last 2 races. But with Meghan at the top of the overall leaderboard, Ijustine has to take the lead, and she'll do that playig with beans. beans? You'll just have to find out. For this....is Videogame Marathon: Stateside.

The hottest TV tournament just got bigger and better. Now, let's meet our host, Ronilyn Reilly!

(applause; ROnilyn walks in the door)

Ronilyn: How are you guys doing? Welcome to Videogame Marathon. (silence) What would happen if you had a game featurign a villian in a puzzle format? Well, that's exactly was tonight's featured game is. Watch.

(cue segment)

Jim: Not long ago in 1993, Sonic was hot on teh tail of making video games, thinking to Dr. Robotnik, what would he do with a video game on his own? The result: Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. In it, you went up against one of his robots and created a combination to knock him off the map. Your only goal was to create a chain of 4 beans, all adding up to big points. It seemed easy, but gamers sure got the hang of this Tetris ripoff.

Now, Let's get inside Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

(applause; teenage bedroom transforms into a factory)

(train whistle)

Ronilyn: Time to go to work. I need 2 empolyees here....Oh, it must be Alex and Fearne. Hi, you 2. Listen, uh, I need your help. I need you to create as many beans as possible, and create a combination to knock him or her out. Remember, it must equal 4 beans to be offical. Whoever fils up the top of the board first...loses. 25 will be awarded to whoever doesn't have a filled top. Got it? Good. Now get to your workstations.

(Alex & Fearne go to workstations)

Ready...set....Make it!

(both make puzzles)

They're off! They're making themmselves look hard out there on the playing area. (Alex creates a 2x copmbo) Alex comes in and creates a combo of 2. (FEarne creates a combo of 4 later) Wow!!! 4 for Fearne, and ALex is over there looking confused about why he's losing this one. (Both continue until Fearne gets a combo of 3 for teh win) It looks like....Oh, Fearen gets a combo of 3 and....ALex needs to hurry this one up....no match, Fearne wins the 25 points and advances to the semis.

Wow, it looks like Alex Shelley wanted to win, but Fearne Cotton's combinations keep the machine rolling. We roll ahead with Meghan & Jimmy and they're next on Videogame Marathon: Stateside.

Ronilyn: back again on Videogame Marathon and Meghan and Jimmy are in the workstations about to build a machine. This will be for 25 points. Ready...set....make it!

(both make puzzles)

They're set for making puzzles. (Meghan gets a 3x combo) Meghan wastes no time getting a combination of 3, while Jimmy is in a but of trouble for it. he needs to make up ground quickly. So far, nothing has happneed, but Meghan still has the advantage. (Meghan gets a 4x combo) Meghan is on a roll. 4 combinations and she can't be stopped. Come on Jimmy, you gotta do smoething...(meghan gets a combo) I don't think he's gonna make it.....and Meghan wins in clear fashion. 25 to her, well done.

Jim: Now let's speed up the action as we go on a....(tape fast forwards)

[WARP ZONE]

(cue later action)

Patrick & Jason was neck and neck in a close race, but Jason garned the upset sending the hockey player packing.

Ronilyn: Patcick trying to come back....Oh no, a 2x combination by Jason....and that'll do it. Jason gets the 25.

Jim: In the next match, iJustine and Kerry went at it like cats, but Kerry pulled things out in the end with an unblieveable combo.

Ronilyn: 1...2...3...4....5...6 ocmbos....and iJustine is out! Kerry is your winner with 25 points.

Jim: So with the semifinals set, anybody can get 50 points for the finals and be one step closer to victory. We'll be back with round 2 of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

Ronilyn: We're back and now it's time for the semis. Fearne will take on Meghan for 25 points and teh right to face the winner of either Jason or Kerry in teh finals. Alright girls, start building!

Fearne trying to get an upset here in teh first of teh semis. Meghan trying to lag off a little bit so she can take charge and maek a good strike...(Meghan gets a 4x combo) Meghan kills Fearne with a combination of 4 and Fearne is needing this to advance into the finals. So far, she not doing anything...but gets a combo anyway. (Meghan gets a 4x combo) Meghan keeps on rolling and gets a combination of 4...Fearne's back is against teh wall....and she loses. Meghan advances into the finals! She gets 25 for that effort and both girls may now leave, because Jason & Kerry are up.

(Jason & Kerry head into the workstations)

Alright, now you saw what happened. Can you do the same thing? Let's find out. GO!!!

(both make puzzles)

Jason & Kerry are neck & neck so far. It's turning out to be one good fight. (Kerry makes a 4x combo) Kerry on the march, giving it her best shot and 4 combos could be the advantage for her. (Jason gets a 3x cmobo) Jason fighting back with a combonation of 3. (Kerry gets a 2x combo) and Kerry fights back with a combo of 2. This is turning out to be a good game. Kerry or Jason....who's gonna win....It's.....Jason who wins the whole thing! What a game it was, let's watch the replay.

It came down to the wire and it seemed taht Kerry would win, but Jason pulled out a combo to win the whole thing.

By the finals, Meghan and Jason were fighting for MVP honors when Jason pulled out a stunning upset, leaving her stranded at the top of teh overall leaderboard once again. Now, they'll whip their...uh, whips back and forth to crack the leaderboard as they whip into shape in a pit full of.....well, you have to see it tonight Because....this....is Videogame Marathon: Stateside.

Jim: What's your fear? Are you scared of spiders? Clowns? Perhaps snakes? Well, in 1984, Bally/Sente did when they endtered the Snake pit. The object was to use your whip and drive all the snakes as if the Pied Piper of Hamlin had a job. Heck, you can even take out scorpions and spiders. With that, you could vanish them all outta here in a instant. Snake Pit showed you how to act liek Indiana Jones and still play it cool.

Now, let's get sssssizzling with SSSSnake Pit!

(applause; teenage bedroom transforms into a aztec temple)

(Ronilyn enters; snakes come in from corners; Ronilyn screams)

Oh, Jason & ALex, you scared me, but these snakes are out here. So, I want you to do me a favor. You have whips and you could knock them all out in one shot by getting rid of many snakes as you can in 45 seconds. Whoever has the most snakes whipped out will get 25 points and advance to the next round. Ready...Whip it!

(clock starts; both whip snakes)

They seem to be everywhere....I think. So far, Alex is in the lead, but Jason can prove that a little whipping goes a long way. 25 seconds! (Both continue to whip snakes) I can hear the music going faster. Jason is having some whip trouble. That's why they're wearign protecuve gear, so nobody gets a whiplash. Har har har! 10 seconds.....5...4...3...2...1...(buzzer sounds) time is up!

Let's see how many snakes you whipped out.....Jason had...37, but Alex had........39! By 2 snakes! Alex advances to the semis and 25 points. As for Jason, check thsi out. (snakes drive Jason out of teh pit) (Ronilyn runs into teh next room)

I got to go, Alex, I got 2 more players to deal with.....

Whew! It must be Kerry and iJustine. Let's se how you do with these whips. You saw what Jason & ALex did, let's find out how you do this time. 45 on the clock...Whip it!

(clock starts; both whip snakes)

Kerry out to clean the house, but iJustine is lokking for snakes, come on Justine, you can do this.......about 30 seconds left. (both continue to whip snakes) Here, tehre and everywhere, that's where the snakes are from. If you got a snake at home, I suggest you put it in the aquarium tank with no water. About 12 seconds remaining in this wave. They are killing the snakes....5 seconds left...(buzzzer sounds) that's it, put your whips down.

Kerry had....25 and Ijustine....had more than that, 34, she wins! (scorpions flee into the room) I have to run for some commercial messages, more actio on teh Marathon when we return....(shrieks and runs off)
