Those are the only people who have a chance to win the Play to Win prizes. Therefore, the same people will win the prizes over and over and over while the rest of us don't have a chance."

I never really knew how those worked. I couldn't believe that it would be like that. I thought it was more like the crazy 8 leaderboards where there was luck involved on where you landed on a very big leaderboard or something like that. Yeah, I would say that would definitely limit the number of players who are qualified to "play" to win. I know the game I'm good at would never be a play-to-win featured game (Mahjonngg Alchemy).

And to 'scsmarch' .... you are absolutely right. I don't want the 'Oodle Team' hiding behind their manufactured 'statistics' and putting words in our mouths. Where did they come up with that about "Most of our oodlers have ALWAYS preferred to use their oodles for sweepstakes"? I know that's not why I decided to start amassing oodles. Or why I continue to work at (and it IS work, in some ways) collecting them. I just wanted to see if I was totally out of touch. I suppose it's possible that perfectly satisfied gamers just don't come to the message boards because they are just so busy being happy entering sweepstakes.... but I really don't think so. I sure hope Angel forwards this thread to the Oodles Team as a direct response to their insult of a letter addressing our issues.

And I really wish they'd send out another official survey asking these very questions they claim to know the answers to regarding what oodlers want.

I know that letter they sent was meant to appease us.... but it had the opposite effect. It really frustrated me--it was condescending. And I feel patronized and insulted.

    Definitely But it Now
And it doesn't even have to be gift cards (although I love them) but it can be all kinds of other things, like the maple syrup they used to have (hint hint). I never do auctions and I rarely enter sweepstakes and for the 1st time since I've been an oodler, I haven't had anything to redeem them for in a long time!

I was referring to the hackers who accrued their Oodles illegally, immorally, illegitimately, all of the above, or whatnot. If they were not banned and their Oodles not revoked, they are the ones who raise the prize costs on the Silent Auctions. That's not even considering those who hack the game and just don't do it blatantly (in other words, obviously) . . . maybe getting into the Top 10 every day to make it seem they are playing fair. After months and months, those Oodles would amass amazingly quickly!

I remember the days of yore when Club Live (now Club Bing) was starting out, there was a computer software to earn the tickets without playing the games. I would bet 1,000 Oodles that the same people are out for GSN's prizes! Microsoft was smart enough to catch the program, revoke the tickets, and deny the prize claims.

Not sure if many remember, but the Oodles program didn't offer Leaderboard Oodles at the onset of the program. It was about 8 months into the Oodles program, when the TV was still Buy it Now for around 365,000 Oodles and I was approaching 360,000 Oodles stored. The normal Oodles available were around 600 to 900 per day, if memory serves. This is why the Silent Auctions would have worked best when Oodles started, when the players' Oodles balances were somewhat even. It would have also deterred hackers from coming into the mix, unless they began hacking on Day One.

Okay. I understand. Thanks for elaborating. I just get defensive a little because I am one who always makes the top 10 (usually the top 5) of the leaderboard for my game of choice (Mahjongg Alchemy), and I do it by playing well and often. There is also a luck factor involved so sometimes I have to play for a looooong time to place where I need to for the day. Sometimes, one or two games will get me there. But I practiced for years before getting to this level and still, like I said, there is the patience and luck aspect to it. I know I was really angry when those hackers were banned, but their scores were not erased from the boards, dropping all the legitimate scores down seven notches in some cases. I would assume, though, that if they were banned... they wouldn't have been able to spend those oodles earned.

That must have been extremely frustrating for you with so many oodles you had and so close to being able to buy the TV! I would have been really upset.

I only do well on one game [Suds] and can get at least 25th place if not more on the first attempt. Since I found the game, one player constantly gets first, second, or at lowest of third place when on the leaderboard. When I had a slower computer, I would average between 10k to 14k points -- enough for 5th place or better; even back then, that player earned 15k to 17k points! To this day, said player earns 3k more points than 2nd place on a normal day (the normal 2nd place is around 8k - 9k points). Strangely enough, said player claimed a "Buy it Now" Sony Blu-Ray player about a week after I did, lol.

Anyway, I am not suggesting that you are a hacker. I don't monitor the Leaderboards, unless other players bring it to my attention on a thread. I have read the website where the hackers download the software, but I will not use it -- I have more self-respect than to do that low-life despicable scamming of prizes!

I like the "Buy It Now" and if there is something I'm working toward, then I'm on the site everyday, playing to earn more oodles. I really like the board games and gift cards. I've redeemed for Twister (so excited on that one) and now Guess Who game, but I've been waiting and waiting for Clue to come back (I already own most of the others on the prize list).

It's kind of silly that this question even has to be asked. Seriously, who in their right mind would prefer Auctions & Sweeps over Buy It Now? I've never entered a sweepstakes/auction. I'd rather spend the rest of my Oodles on whoopee cushions & fanny packs. I'd then go door to door & distribute them throughout my neighborhood.

    BUY IT NOW!

I agree.... it seems a silly question to ask and the answer seems obvious. But, the Oodles Team insists that oodlers have always preferred the sweepstakes. So I wanted to check and see if I was just totally wrong thinking that couldn't be so.

Back to the topic now. . . I've only entered a handful of sweepstakes. From memory, I've entered one monthly HDTV sweepstakes, the hourly sweepstakes for gift cards, and a laptop computer. I only tried for one Auction: I bid my entire bank of around 395k Oodles during the latest XBox with Kinect [a player from Canada won], losing my 500 Oodles entry fee.

So yea, I've tried my hand at all three, and I prefer the guaranteed prize using "Buy it Now". I am a risk taker by nature, but when the odds are against me (that is, greater than 1:1000 odds), I will take the sure deal. That's not to say I don't play Bingo Blitz, but sweepstakes costing more than 50 Oodles is my limit -- unless it's an awesome prize. Needless to say with my track record, electronics are my Achille's Heel to spend my Oodles.

Buy It Now! I have never, and will never, waste my oodles on a sweepstakes, an auction, or a play to win. Like another poster said, I will buy nonsense prizes first (on my way out the door for greener pastures).

I am new to gsn.com only been playing for a few months now and have already racked up a decent amount of oodles, needless to say when I went to see what I could do with them I was extremely disappointed with the buy it now section. Why waste money on sweepstakes and auctions when only ONE person is going to win.

Without a doubt I prefer BUY IT NOW! I would love to see some decent prizes show up in there...

"buy it now" "buy it now" "buy it now" "buy it now" "buy it now"

I want Buy It Now also.
