Oodles Prizes Survey: Sweepstakes or Buy-It-Now?

My LEAST favorite is the sweepstakes! I have used mine on buy it now, and then the prizes there just became big advertisements & marketing for products. Spend oodles for coupons? I can get coupons & deals all over the internet! If I play games to WIN prizes, it's no prize to have to buy something. I hate it so much, I know I would never buy anything from the companies who are in buy it now. So, then I used my oodles for auctions for the daily Amazon gift card, which I looked for today & it seems to be gone. Figures. At least with the auctions (I won one) I have a fighting chance & don't need to play for years before any return. The sweeps, you have maybe one shot in a million?!! GSN should take a cue from WorldWinner. I got enough rewards points on there, before ever playing for cash to get $175 in gift cards, the same amount of time it took me to get nothing from GSN. Until the advertisers realize that the players are fed up & leaving though, nothing on GSN will change.

I'm just curious, though... aren't the $10.00 Amazon gift cards going for a lot of oodles in the auctions? (Like more than 50,00?)

See, the thing is the buy-it-now prizes USED to be good. Gift cards, games, even televisions. Then there were smaller prizes that were useful (rather than GSN-logo items like magnets and 10,000-oodles lip balm) like heated cat beds, pure maple syrup, ear bud headphones, flashlights, board games, etc. It would be so nice to be able to browse the buy-it-now section and see new things to get with our oodles!

I don't do Auctions don't really like the sweepstakes either, I rather buy something with my oodles but then again I don't want to use my hard earned oodles, On dollar store items. Come on people return the prizes you once offered. And bring back the GSN we once had. And bring back GSN RADIO . Can't understand why the change, it sure wasn't for the better. Bring back the old Fans and make us happy.

I wanted to modify my answer. I would like buy-it-nows, but for gift cards or more valuable prizes, no oodlectibles.

I'd rather be able to BUY it now at least then I could get something but please no more books or magazines,I would rather have buy Gifts or use oodles to buy something like the world winner lets you win . Good luck I have seen this come often and then it doesn't change. but it would be nice. I love the games and working to get soemthing but, I can't get nothing I bid on or try to bid on something and never even get it. so good luck<<<

I see the digital kitchen scale is now an auction item when it too used to be available to buy-it-now. Very sad.

yep.. Squish.. The GOOD OL' DAYS are gone for good! I spend less and less time on GSN now... You have a better chance at winning a Lottery or one of those Sweepstakes from the Advertizers on the Web than getting anything worthwhile anymore!..

First I'd prefer "buy it now" if there were some decent options besides the magazines. Second would be auctions. Third would be the sweeps, figure I haven't got a chance in hell with those. Good thinking Squish, hope they're listening.

Obviously your chances are better with the auctions... because there isn't any luck involved. You just need to bid the highest. The problem is, I'll bet there are hundreds of people throwing away the auction fees and bidding waaaaayyyy below what they are going for. Simply because they have no idea how high the winning bids are. Of course, NONE of us actually KNOW (which is, in itself, really strange for GSN to not let us know the winning bids) unless we learn from the winner or hear from some of the losing bidders as to what wasn't a high enough bid.

Hah! That'll be the day! GSN's strategy is to keep the oodle counts low to deter us from using them on the buy it now options because if you think about it, it's their only wild card, so to speak, inre: to how much money they'll have to spend. Honestly I'd just as soon do away with the buy it now option(especially considering how poor the choices are!) and have everything on the up and up, no more fishy business!

By the way, who else got a GSN questionnaire? I think your token poll got noticed Squish. Yay!

BUY IT NOW. But I don't think it matters what we think. GSN always has new ways for us to waste our hard earned oodles. They must know how long we are on the site. I would like to see the amount of oodles posted of what was "paid" for the prize. Probably then we'd see how many oodles the hackers have and use and we would now it is fraudulent. They want us to use our oodles-for example using oodles to play games--I wasted 10,000 oodles on a game (Swap) . I tied the game and the other person got it all-how about splitting the prize Oh well, now that I now it is not really geared for the fans but for profit--I just enjoy the games, and now I can't possibly win anything...

LOL. Nah, I don't think anything I did had anything to do with that survey but I sure wish I would have received the invitation to take it.

BTW, I saw on another thread that you won an iTunes Gift Card in an auction... congratulations! And it wasn't even that unreasonable of an amount (compared to what some others are going for).

i and my dad received the poll and answered the questions expressing our dislike for auctions and desire for buy it nows. found it interesting that my mom who had already e-mailed gsn complaining about the auctions and wanting more buy its didn't receive the poll to respond to, so the poll did not go out to all the site users.

I was wondering if you and your dad are cash players on World Winner. I had a theory that the survey invite went out to people who played for cash but did not ever buy tokens.
