Mother's Day Memories 5/9 (ended, 15 winners)
Here's hoping everyone had a great weekend and got Mom time in, either with a call, in person or celebrating her memory. I was reminded this weekend that sometimes moms have 4 legged kids and not just two legged kids. I thought that was sweet, and true!
For a chance at 300 Oodles, tell us your favorite memory of your mother (or other caretaker).
Rules: You have until 12pm Midnight PT to post. Tuesday we'll randomly select 15 people to win. Please post only once. Do not comment on other posts until after winners are announced. Obey forum rules.

My mom and i went to Seasons 52 for dinner the day before Mother's day. It was a very healthy meal and the dessert was awesome.

one of my favorite memories of me and my mom, is when we go out to mall near the house and we would always go the Woolworth(dime store)
and have lunch and a an ice scream soda. some times we go to another mall close where my dad used to work and we wait for him to pick us up.

My Mom memory is from when I was 8 and she took me to what was then Comisky Park, (now White Sox Park in Chicago) to see The Beatles. I know, I'm totally dating myself in terms of age, but it was such an amazing thing for her to do. I have no idea how she got the tickets, but she did and it remains one of my most treasured memories.

My mother passed away at the young age of 51 when I was 20. One of my best memories is from when I was little and the Flintstones were on tv on Friday nights. My parents always went to a friend's house on Friday nights to play cards. Every Friday my mother and I would watch the Flintstones together and have a little party (pop and chips). It was our time so that when we went to the friend's house I would not bug them while they were playing cards. I would read comic books and watch tv.
It has been over 38 years and I still miss her daily.

I remember back in high school, (William Byrd HS) when I played football, we were playing a team from Dunbar, I was playing linebacker and blitzed the quarterback. I made the tackle but I was piled on and got my leg broke. ''MOM'', came running on the field and was going to beat the kid who broke my leg. Well, she didn't but she insisted on going in the ambulance with me to the hospital. They told her she couldn't, they said it was against regulations. ''MOM'' told them.......''TRY TO STOP ME''....she was allowed!! I was so scared, having her there made the difference.

Taking a trip with my Mom as a teen to visit my grandparents in the midwest and catching fireflies for the first time.

As chat rooms will testify, I have a hard time selecting Mothers Day gifts. When I was about ten, I got my mom a bouquet of daisies. For the next few years, every year I got a bigger and bigger bouquet of daisies. When I was in college and working regularly, I started getting mom other kinds of presents, but I think she liked the daisies best. But she said the liked the spa basket shegot from me this year, so it's alright.
