I really don't like the use of vulgar words on this show. Just a few minutes ago, one of the correct words was A-S-S-E-S. I also remember one of the clues featured the B word (term for female dog). I think this show should be rated PG-13 or older because of this.
I can't believe "A-S-S-E-S" is even in the dictionary, really. I mean I can, just don't want to. LOL
I saw the Lingo "Season finale" last night and I think there need to be a few changes made for season two, which I'm sure it will be renewed in the early Fall.
1. For graphics, when there are four balls crossed off on the Lingo board, I can barely see the red dots. I think the actually number should be red and the ball around it should still be blue. For example 63
2. For round three, I don't think there should be clues for $500 words. It would make it harder for the players but since it is round three, and there are no clues in bonus Lingo, doesn't sound bad.
3. In bonus Lingo, if the team gets four words right, no matter what they won in the first three rounds, for getting four words I think it should be worth $20,000 plus the winnings from the first three rounds.
4. Always two stopper balls, one prize ball, and one free choice/progressive ball/question mark ball. The "question mark" ball should be only in rounds two and three.
5. When the word is passed on from one team to another, no bonus letter. It can be too easy considering the other teams that had the word first did all the work on the word.
Also, I'm surprised only two contestants won the $100,000 top prize.
I just saw the one with the B word. The clue was something like "I can't believe that b***ch is attracted to to him," and the five letter answer was TRAMP.Originally Posted by DoughBoy319
It sure caught me by surprise. Bill Engvall even made a joke following that clue about this being the "HBO" version of Lingo. I don't mind Lingo, and and don't think it's a bad show, but is the use of this kind of language necessary on a show that may be watched by young kids? The past version (Woolery) was highly entertaining and highly enjoyed without such innuendo and vulgarity. Why does GSN feel the need to add a trashy element to its new shows (like Love Triangle/Engvall Lingo)? Is GSN trying to attract the Maury/Jerry Springer/Steve Wilkosviewing group or something?
If networks need to resort to innuendo , trash, and vulgarity to attract viewers, I think it says something quite sad about the current state of our nation.
If they want to make changes, bring back Chuck and Shandi and get decent contestants. Engvall's version is an embarrassment. Kids could be watching. A GAME SHOW should not be TV-MA.
Engvall Lingo is one of the most popular shows on the network. Lots of GSN viewers enjoy the show and don't find it offensive at all.
I agree...they turned an intelligent show into a piece of juvenile garbage. The clues make the show worse. Keep the big budget and better prizes and bring back Chuck. This show really stinks. What a disappointment.

I agree this show needs brighter players. Most of the players on this show act like they have a negative IQ or something. You should always be able to get 5 words in less than 1 minute 30 seconds, but it's only happened like twice, and that's because these contestants are dumber than spit. Bring in smarter contestants GSN.
To me, the only good thing about this Lingo is the bonus round, where the contestants have a more legitimate chance to win the jackpot as it were. With the Woolery years, they had a 1 in 13 chance to win. Now it's based on skill. Then again, the new Lingo's contestants, ...
When I was in 6th grade, someone tried to get me in trouble for calling him an a-s-s (I am also offended that the word is filtered on this board). I marched over to the dictionary in the classroom, looked it up, read aloud "a stupid or silly person," looked right at him and said, "That is exactly what I meant." Dictionary.com defines it:
a-s-s (noun)
1. a long-eared, slow, patient, sure-footed domesticated mammal, Equus asinus, related to the horse, used chiefly as a beast of burden.
2. any wild species of the genus Equus, as the onager.
3. a stupid, foolish, or stubborn person.
And my mother raised AKC dogs for years; a ***** is a female dog. Maybe if kids were exposed to the non vulgar definitions of words, they might expand their vocabularies a bit.
I just think that the lack of Shandi is a complete fail. The show's okay, but I miss her.

I hope S&P was watching the episode that aired tonight on GSN at 11 PM Eastern. I noticed two things in the bonus lingo game on words four and five that would constitute a "technical win". On word four, MANGO, it took almost six seconds for the word to fill in and be declared correct. Then on the final word, only one letter, the E in the first position, popped up. With only a few seconds left, coupled with the loss of time from word four, this leaves the contestants at a severe disadvantage, and is a violation of the rules of bonus lingo.
I want to add something else in here. Might have mentioned it before. I'd hate to say it but, the contestants on the new Lingo act so dumb. Atleast the contestants on Woolery's Lingo acted more intelligent then now. GSN Originals were so much cleaner in their early years of making originals. Take Friend or Foe and Russian Roulette for example. Some of you guys probably never seen those. They aired again back in 2008.
Another game show was Bingo America. David Goldhill was president when that show was on, not that that has anything to do with it I'm just saying. It was a clean show. Up until 2010, GSN made clean shows. I've said before, I'm no fuddy duddy, I'll watch the new Lingo, Bill is okay but, I mostly watch just to play along. Not for the host, contestants or set. I've always been that way with game shows. Now if only I could say I didn't watch or care for the language and stuff used. I try to ignore it. I've tried emailing GSN about it. Complaining does no good but, GSN should know how I feel.

I thought it was just me that noticed the new Lingo being:
1,Players that aren't too bright
2.Dirty minded and a need to make jokes host
3.clues and words that center around sex and putting down women.
For those that notice it and don't like it,I agree.I was in hopes that even tho CW isn't the host
anymore that the show would still be watchable.Once I heard all the sexual inuendoes and snickering
that did it for me.I just don't get it why the need for potty talk like that on a game show.I have tried
watching a few episodes of it in hopes that it was just one episode that got dirty.Nope,it was all three.
Too bad.I like having a phrase or question said and then trying to figure out the word.If I am remembering
correctly,the old Scrabble that Chuck hosted in the 1980's was like that.Didn't he say a clue and then
the player had to quess the word? Anyway,maybe next season Lingo will drop the sex obsession but I doubt it.
