Is the show being renewed for another season? I thought I heard it was being cancelled.

Lingo is the top rated show on GSN right now, next to The Newlywed Game. Lingo continues to be a hit, even after new episodes have stopped airing. I'm sure soon GSN will announce a second season of Bill's Lingo, and new episodes will hopefully air later in the Fall at the new time of 6P.M.

So when are we going to see a new season?

To be honest with you, I hope they canceled Engvall Lingo for good. With this version only being aired at midnight, this version of the show is heading for the trash can. I honestly don't think Lingo needs a revival. Just keep showing us Woolery Lingo and everything will be fine.

Why are there no clues given for the words like the real show?

I preferred the Chuck Woolery format. Bring it back with this format but a different host, one who really does know how to play the game. Engvall had no idea how to get a word, even if only one letter is missing. Chuck knew much better how to play the game. But I think that the host should be an expert of the game. I always smiled when Chuck was saying: "You are good players..." when it was obvious that the players were awful.

They obviously couldn't get Woolery back, or else they would have. Engvall was a good enough host. GSN didn't do badly with that. Engvall just has to tone the jokes down. The game play in the new Lingo was very good and modern

Engvall is a pretty good entertainer. Quite witty, as a matter of fact. He just had no clue how to play the game, and I think the knowledge of the game s/b an important requirement for the host.

GSN did good bc they were quite generous with the money. I think the show got the ax bc the money was too easily won and they were giving away much more money than anticipated. They just couldn't afford it, despite the high ratings.

Two easily won? Only two out of 40 won the $100,000, and then only a few others won 4 out of 5 words in bonus Lingo, totaling about $20,000. The show is a little bit of an expense, but GSN can afford it.

I wonder which way Engvall Lingo is going. Either the way that The Newlywed Game went when "We'll wait a while to renew it for another season" or Inaba 1 vs. 100, which stayed on GSN for a while but then taken off after 10 months of reruns.

The show was a hit for GSN in the Summer. We shouldn't have had to wait this long for a renewal.

Really!? Well, it seemed to me that there were more than that. But anyway, they were giving away several thousand grands per episode, and that was quite a bit. Maybe they could afford it, but they didn't want to.

It was definitely two, but a couple things that could make the show cheaper is a smaller, less expensive set like they had in the old show. The studio audience I do feel is needed.

I'll admit, after finally getting the opportunity to watch a little more of this version lately, it wasn't quite as bad as I feared after watching the initial promos. But I agree with the consensus that it could be much better. I'm side-eying a number of the clues, which are an unnecessary addition overall for this show IMO, and some of the contestant selection... the latter's been a problem since at least Woolery's 4th season.

The new set is nice, I like the idea of points being changed to dollars, and Bill isn't a new favorite host but he does a decent job.

The set is very nice. But everything you listed here are changes that need to be made...

    1)Casting call
    2)Clues

Not so sure about that. GSN might have just wanted to take the show in a new direction. On a channel filled with reruns, a new host indicates fresh episides. Plus I'm guessing that Engvall's salary might not be as much as Woolery's, since he's not as well known.
