I like change when it's for the GOOD---this change is NOT GOOD. Why change what was good????? Yes, still 5 letter words, but the host is trying to be funny!! And just not good. Bring back Chuck!!!

I fotgot to mention that BAGGAGE is more baggage then anyone wants. That is also a terrible show---Jerry Springer was never a good host, but who could be with that much BAGGGAGE??????

Wow, at first I was mad that Chuck wasn't going to be the host. Now I'm mad at the extreme amount of dirty humor on the show. The clues were just an excuse for sexual references on the show. "He likes a big one between his legs." "Donald Trump has a big one." I think the worst was in the first episode when the clue was "Always comes in the end" and the two contestants shouted "D*cks!". I don't expect GSN to bring Chuck and/or Shandi back, no matter how good or bad the ratings are. But this is ridiculous. The Newlywed Game and Baggage are dirty enough already. It's sad to find out that on a "family-friendly" game they're laughing at references and words that we can't even use on this forum.

I really enjoy the show, I don't know if I'd say it's better - I don't think anything beats Chuck & Shandi, but this version definitely modernizes the show. There are definitely some tweaks that should be made if it gets a 2nd season though.

Watched one episode ... won't watch again. The question format is an interesting change. But really, do we need another game show of sex-innuendo questions?! The new word graphics are amateur, the big balls are silly (who doesn't miss the ball bowl?) and the slow play ... not worth my time.

I can't stand Lingo, and I can't stand GSN. In fact, I'm writing a letter to GSN about not only how bad Lingo is, but how tasteless the originals currently on are.

I actually kinda like the new Lingo. Other than replacing Chuck Woolery with Bill Engvall (who I've never thought was funny), I think everything else is an improvement. The game isn't quite as mundane as it was in the Woolery era and they're giving away some serious money now ($100K vs. the progressive $5K+$1K jackpot). Not bad, GSN.

I used to love this show, I really did. Chuck Woolery has a great personality and was fun to watch but this new host is so boring. The new format is terrible and the humor is juvenile and not funny at all. I tried to watch the new show but I changed the channel halfway through. Shame on whoever thought this was a good idea, this new Lingo is just plain awful.

Totally agree. I like Bill Engvall as a person, but this is a Game Show Network. Not stand up comedy--dirty comedy, no less! My 6 and 8 year old grandkids like to watch GSN when they visit, as they don't have it and I counted it as a learning/fun experience. They were excited to see the new Lingo and asked me to tape it, so I watched the first 2 episodes. Filthy! It was naturally funny before. Not contrived. I found it more difficult getting the double entendre clues to try and solve the puzzles. The only improvement is the amount of money that can be won. Chuck Woolery has always been a popular host--who decided to let him go? I could easily do w/o Shandi--she's as clever as Vanna White, but at least Vanna is sweet and caring. Actually, we all liked it better with Staci and Chuck. And ditto for Drew and Sherry , both whom I love, but not their shows. Newlywed is too dirty--it can be just as funny w/o the shock value answers and Drew's show is NOT funny. Baggage should be called Garbage and Love Triangle--disgusting. This is no longer something for the family as it once was. Who decided raunchy is better?

GSN is trying very hard to attract that type of crowd who enjoy sex/trash/comedy shows. Since the sponsors pay out the most, instead of airing programming suitable for the entire family to enjoy. Based on the recent ratings, they appear to be content with under 100,000 viewers to watch a new, underperforming show with high paying sponsor, than say 300,000 viewers for a Classic show with lower paying sponsors and older audiences.

It's not just GSN, it's the media as a whole. As time passes it continues to get more and more trashy and sexual. GSN is only doing what everyone has done because the media has shown that it's well-liked. By the way, GSN is still getting ratings in the 300K range, so I guess they're only doing what any other network desperate for good ratings would do. Also, like I said in my previous post (which was mysteriously deleted...), I'm over the whole "Chuck is gone" thing and believe Bill would be a fine Lingo host if it didn't introduce those clues.

Just checked in to see how this thread was doing.
I don't think this is just a couple of people registering multiple accounts to say how bad the show sucks.
I was never a GSN online member, but once I saw the new show, I was so irritated by it, I decided to create an account an vent.
Obviously, I'm not the only one who feels THE NEW SHOW IS NOT WORTH OUR TIME ANYMORE as another member voiced.
My buddies and I used to watch Lingo (old format with Chuck and Shandi) and we all hate the new version too but they wouldn't bother getting online and letting anyone know. But we do find something else to watch all the time now.

I totally agree and I am sick of watching show after show usually the same one of Love Triangle, and both of Drew Carreys programs. I wish they would go back to the old Lingo and play some more of the old game shows!!
Quit trying to compete with the reality stupid shows which are all we seem to be getting!!
