Lingo Plus - Attention Guide Angel

    To GSN and Guide Angel,

Is there any way you can return the Lingo Plus game to your site?

You know how many players and supporters we had in both leagues that played there and also brought many visitors to GSN's site that wouldn't have came if they hadn't have heard about our Lingo League. We helped GSN out for years bringing traffic to their site, and then they took our game away.

They said they lost the "rights" to the Lingo games online. Well, obviously they have the rights back since we see a singleplayer version of the game has returned to GSN.

Guide Angel or anyone from GSN, if you could provide any answers or information it would help. It seems only fair to put the game back on the site, what's the harm?

Yes Guideangel. This poster makes a good point - you clearly have the rights back so what harm would it do to put back up the two player game? It brought thousands of players to GSN and resulted in a vibrant and robust lingo league community that was shattered when GSN pulled the plug on lingo. GSN only serves to gain by putting it back up. Nothing to lose! It doesn't have to do anything with oodles or cash games or advertising to be beneficial to the site. Please make those of us that supported GSN when it first started feel rewarded for loyalty. You can bet that hundreds of players that LOVED that game will be back if you put it up again! Please don't just ignore these posts... it actually means a lot to many people. Thanks.

It's been a week so I figure I will post again.

Guide Angel, here is a quote that you gave from GSN back in March of 2008 when the game was removed.

"I was asked to post this message from GSN

    Quote:
" Please know we (GSN) are certainly here and I can report that senior management has both read your comments and is equally miserable that we were not able to end at a better solution. Not only is Lingo a favorite to everyone here but the online versions and associated communities were (and are) especially dear to our hearts. We are working hard to come up with new, fun, and even better games and online experiences for you so please don't lose faith and thank you, sincerely, for your patience and understanding.

    The GSN Team"

    Quote:
"We are very sorry to announce that the online Lingo games are no longer available on GSN.com. Unfortunately, the company that licenses Lingo is no longer extending GSN rights to the online versions of the game. We understand how important Lingo Plus in particular is to the GSN community and apologize profusely for the impact we know this may cause. We do hope you'll continue to enjoy some of the other fun GSN word games like Phrase Frenzy and Whammy Plus. "

    ....

I could post more. But in all of your posts Guide Angel, it seems that you and GSN were seeming sincerely apologetic for the loss of the Lingo game. There was nothing else that could be done. It seems like if you really cared about our community our game would be back. Is there any answer that we could get? You can't tell us years ago that you're sorry and hope that we keep visiting this site (which we have, there are still players around that would love to come back). I think we deserve more than this The Lingo Plus game would bring more people to the site. Which means more games getting played, more cash games being played, etc. GSN please acknowledge the community that you said you cared about!

Angel is really good at at least acknowledging posts like these, but I have to say that this section of the forum is kind of abandoned. Maybe post this under the Oodles discussion? That part of the community gets a lot of traffic... although you correctly slotted it here by topic. Just a suggestion.

    Hi guys,

Sorry, I did forward the post last week but forgot to let you know. I wasn't ignoring. I hope a multi-player can be added again too sometime!

    LINGO Modification

I wanted to request a modification to the Lingo for Oddles game. When the timer runs out and the answer to the word that you were working on is revealed, it would be nice (and less frustrating) that if before sending you to the bonus round or ending the game that the ANSWER be revealed for longer than a half of a second. Any chance of that?

DarleneOhio, I've passed your request on.

    Hi Bob !!!!!!!!!

Rankmonster misses you. I haven't seen you in foreverrrrr. its gatorsboi / whatever many other names i accrued over those years.

    Guide Angel,

Any word? I know Whammy Plus was removed once and then brought back again.. so I've seen GSN have the power to do it. We were here for so long! Any updates would be appreciated. Are the programmers not wanting to add Lingo Plus back?? We don't need upgrades lol.

there might be problem as the lingo with chuck was produced by gsn the lingo with bill is produced by zoo productions and not gsn.

I'm sorry, there are no updates yet. The new Lingo game was built from scratch and a multi-player one would need to be too. GSN does know how much people would like that, so keeping fingers crossed it happens down the road!

Angel - why would a multiplayer game need to be built from scratch? Lingoplus is already made... and that's really what everybody wants (new words added would be nice as perhaps there are more words in the new single player game which is a nice feature as the only iffy thing about lingoplus was the somewhat repetitive word bank). It was a huge smash and again it's a win win situation for gsn. That game singlehandedly pretty much sustained this website before the merger with worldwinner or the word oodle was ever uttered!

Think lingoplus no longer has a place? Why not make a small section called "classic gsn" and just put it there. The game itself takes nothing to maintain, takes up virtually no bandwidth, and only serves to bring old and new players to the site. I mean... how much sitting around the table does someone need to do to come to the conclusion that until a new two player game is concocted... simply throw the old one back up as that is what everyone wants and is asking for and has been asking for since it went down. Seriously!

they have to build it from scratch to match the tv version is my guess

  15. #15
PinksMinion, the game has to be built from scratch because GSN does not own Lingo Plus and can't use it. They did say in a meeting yesterday we're definitely looking into a multi-player version and with luck it should come early 2012. And you're right, there are about 1,000 new words in the single player version now.
