Angry NOT AGAIN!!! YouTube Suspends Another Account!

I am surprised nobody has brought this up yet...

I found out on G-R.net this morning that one user - rashad#### - had uploaded a bunch of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! episodes to YouTube.

His uploading future is no longer in jeopardy, folks. His account was suspended because of multiple copyright claims by Sony. Based on what i read on Wheel of Fortune boards, i learned that he uploaded the entire Season 28 of WOF to YouTube.

In the wake of rashad's suspension, some users have removed Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! episodes as a way to take appropriate action before their accounts get victimized by the copyright cops.

But some episodes still remain, including NBC Daytime episodes, many of which I am going to download while I have a chance. I strongly suggest you do the same as well.

As some know, David Downs (DownsA530) and Michael Tiller have taken to YouTube in the last day or two to address the Sony issue. Both have indicated changes (perhaps that includes removing Wheel and J! eps) to their channels to keep them in operation. I was not aware of other suspensions. However, perhaps it was learning about this that caused them to make the statements and announce changes.

Brandon (a.k.a. excuseyou77) also removed his Wheel of Fortune episodes from YouTube as well, probably just as a precautionary measure.

I'm not happy about the news that any episodes of WoF or J! that I miss will no longer be uploaded. This is horrible, and it's also a pain to me b/c the station that carries both shows, WPBF-25 has been pre-empting both shows a lot lately. Why do they have to be on WPBF 25? Why not WPTV News Channel 5? WPBF 25 is garbage.

Not for me to say, but perhaps Sony's shutting these accounts down because they plan to start offering this service themselves, the way CBS does with The Price is Right...

Not necessarily true. Classic TPIR episodes were not affected, and still are not. Either way, I am fearful for those game show uploaders' accounts. What will be next - FremantleMedia taking action on shows they own?

Also, I discovered last night that another YouTube user - JackBauer### - got hit with a copyright strike for the April Fool's 1997 episode. Funny thing is, Part 1 got removed, but Part 2 was unaffected. So that may be a bad omen of things to come for classic Wheel fans. I am not sure if David Downs got copyright strikes as well. Michael Tiller may have been hit with a copyright strike as well - I am concerned for his original account, though he does have a secondary account created.

WheelManiac - another YT user - deleted his WOF episodes at his own free will, and I am sure others did the same as well.

But in either event, I am downloading whatever exists while I can.
