Very small schedule change Eff. 1/8

Per GSN's On-Air Guide, the late-Sunday 2 AM rerun of Poker is gone, replaced by Regis' WWTBAM, now airing 6 nights a week at that time. Meanwhile, Meredith's WWTBAM is gone entirely, with the 3:30 AM weekend slot now featuring yet more reruns of Lingo on both nights.

I saw the Poker move coming...it's floundering, and they're chipping away at it, bit by bit. And in reality, I wasn't surprised to see Vieira's show get pulled - to see its only airing go into that spot, off on its own, was a death knell. What I'm a little surprised at is that they threw Lingo into that spot; as much as I like that show (especially compared to some of the other originals), they're starting to run it into the ground, for sure.

Too bad about Meredith, but her leaving the schedule was only a matter of time once she was down to just 3:30AM on weekends.

Also...nothing against Lingo, but since it's on a ton already, combined with the fact that anything GSN puts at 3:30 AM is gonna get terrible ratings anyway, I would have preferred almost any other GSN original instead: "Russian Roulette", "That's the Question", "Camouflage", etc....just for variety.

It's the start of Poker being slowly whittled down if the ratings don't improve. GSN has to get better ratings. No demo in prime time can justify below 300 ratings no matter what slant some posters try to fabricate.

A scheduling oddity, but the new pdfs say that Meredith will appear on Regis Millionaire Sunday January 30. GSN may be moving all its poker shows to Saturday night in preparation for the new High Stakes Poker season due in February. The expansion to three more hours on Saturday could be part of the move. It would be a good idea to cut back poker to one night.

It never really did work in the ratings when they moved all the Poker shows to Sunday. Ratings were better for Poker on Saturday in the first place. Too bad that Sunday evenings can't be dedicated to Classics, but I know how those types of suggestions can sometimes get out of hand.

I wish GSN would air Meredith's Millionare back-to-back at 9:00PM ET. If I recall, that used to do good in the ratings when it first aired on GSN.

Believe me, they won't let go of the Newlywed/Baggage combo that's pulling great numbers for 9:00, sometimes better than the 6:00 first runs!

Just a thought, but instead of the Lingo burnout at 12 PM, how about a run of Regis' Millionaire?

Didn't they try that before a couple of years ago? I'm pretty sure it bombed at that slot.

I don't mind Lingo and definitely think it is one of GSN's better originals but there is way too much of it now on the schedule.

I still love Lingo. I like GSN's early originals. I wish they would put some classics on for the weekend from 9-1PM ET atleast. And some new classics that don't air during the weekday if GSN can. I would like a nice combination of Modern and classic shows. But, I guess i'll keep dreaming.

Regis Millionaire appeared to be very solid just a couple months ago in the midnight slot, averaging 250K-350K viewers. It's what made dropping it for Catch 21 such a surprise to me.

We were talking about the 12pm slot.
