    Big Weekday Schedule Changes (8/29)

    From the GSN Program Schedule

    The changes:

    2:30pm - 1 vs 100 (replaces Chain Reaction)
    3pm - Whammy! (replaces Lingo)
    3:30pm - Chain Reaction (replaces 1 vs 100)
    6pm - Lingo (replaces Baggage)
6:30pm - Baggage (replaces Newlywed Game)
7pm - Newlywed Game (replaces Love Triangle)
8pm - Millionaire (replaces Lingo hour)
9pm - Deal Or No Deal (replaces Newlywed Game hour)
11pm - Newlywed Game (replaces Lingo)
    11:30pm - Baggage (replaces Improv-a-Ganza)
    2am - The 25,000 Pyramid (replaces Lingo)
    2:30am - The 100,000 Pyramid (replaces Improv-a-Ganza)

Some good changes here. I guess GSN noticed Millionaire's good rating when it aired on that Sunday night. Also, glad to see the originals get cut back, the whole 6pm-3am idea of all originals except for two hours of Family Feud, wasn't really a outstanding success in the ratings. The big cut back of Bill's Lingo is no surprise, considering how much they aired it. I wonder if it will get renewed. Although the cut back is more likely because they only have 40 episodes. Love Triangle is now only gonna be on the weekends, as well.

Great to see Dick Clark back in the 2am hour with Pyramid (with 100k returning!) That hour usually got decent ratings back when they had it on in 2009 & most of 2010. Mr. Clark will certainly do better then what had been airing there. I wouldn't get my hopes up about a new 100k Pyramid season, but you never know. Still, good to see this. The pre-1990 shows get another hour of air time per week.

Have to wonder if the weekend lineup will get some big changes as well? Overall, good changes. Millionaire and DOND will certainly bring up the ratings again for those hours. Sorry, but Lingo for an hour really didn't do that well. Some nights, it couldn't crack 300k. Sorry, but when Karn Feud at 4pm does better, GSN notices that. I wish they'd get rid of the 1pm DOND, but oh well. I wouldn't be surprised if the 1pm showing will get lower ratings since the show is on again in later slots. But we will see. Not a big deal though.

Oh My God!!!! I LOVE these changes. The changes I like the best are Whammy! at 3pm, Chain Reaction at 3:30pm and Millionaire coming back. BEST changes I have seen! Good to see a little non-trash in primetime.

finally I get to see whammy, I haven't seen it at all (I work weekends so haven't been able to see it)
good to see Gsn listen to people who don't care for non-game shows.
next step whammy Game on gsn.com connected with Whammy show make it happen.

You can thank me for the recent schedule change. I received an email from David Goodhill praising the lineup I made. It's exactly the realistic lineup I put into place. Can you imagine that!!!

Wow! I can't believe David Goldhill used your realistic lineup you sent him! Maybe later I'll send one for weekends.

Really? When did Goldhill send this e-mail to you?

Interesting. I know, I know, the boards don't make up the actual viewers of the audience, but maybe GSN does listen sometimes, providing that the schedule changes people suggest won't do any harm for the networks ratings. And I can't see how any of these changes will hurt the ratings. If anything, they will improve them, particularly Millionaire at 8pm.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these schedule changes for lots of reasons!

    1) Whammy! is back on weekdays.
    2) Less Newlywed Game & Engvall Lingo
    3) Millionaire is back on weekdays - at an awesome timeslot!
    4) Improv is cut back to only one airing a day
    5) Pyramid is back at night!

need more reasons? lol! I'm so happy with these changes.

If GSN were smart, they would promote Millionaire back at 8pm with some ads. It's one of the best game shows of all time. They should look into doing this.

Interesting to see the severe cutback for Engvall. Wouldn't have expected him to be knocked out of prime time and cut to just one daily airing. His ratings weren't on the level of Newlywed Game and Baggage in their respective primes, but they were still very respectable, particularly in the 8 PM hour. Still, 6 PM is not a bad slot to be in. I can see the show getting a renewal.

Surprised to see Newlywed Game being taken out of prime time as well. But hey, I'm not complaining. It's refreshing to see them take a break from their over-reliance on originals, and especially bringing Regis back to his good old 8 PM slot. Also great to see Pyramid returning to late nights, and that they still have the rights to $100K (they should put it back in the morning too). And, ding dong, Love Triangle and Improv-a-Ganza are dead (at least on weekdays).

I'm a little unsure about the 2-4 PM changes - the 2 PM hour was doing really well and I think they should have left it alone. Then I would have put Woolery Lingo at 3 PM and Whammy! at 3:30. If I had to put Inaba somewhere, maybe I'd put it at 1:30 PM with syndie DoND or Karn as a lead-in. But those quibbles aside, these changes are definitely a big step in the right direction.

EDIT: Oops, didn't realize Improv was still on at midnight. Still, a big cutback.

That's so much better than what they were doing. Good to see Drew and Wendy essentially gone, and very good to see Regis and 100k back...its about time. Now if they would take care of daytime...mix up the MG a bit, bring in Password, etc. But this is a start! (Please don't let them screw it up in two months time...)

Whammy! is returning to weekdays? If it does well, maybe GSN could do a new season of episodes with a new host (Todd Newton is booked for Family Game Night on the Hub)!

But nothing on if GSN will surprise us on the same day with a new 200 episode batch of:
    Match Game
    Family Feud
    Card Sharks

This is one weekday schedule change that I can enjoy. Whammy! is a hit on weekend mornings, so it is a good choice for weekdays. Good riddance to Love Triangle, and Improv-a-Ganza holds onto one midnight airing. Also, it's great that Engvall's Lingo is being reduced heavily. For such a short run, it had a ridiculous number of repeats. Regardless of what people say about Lingo getting 300K viewers three or more times a day, it wasn't doing as well as other shows have been doing in the past. GSN made a smart move by putting Howie and Regis back in prime time. Although the epidoes might be dated, it's certainly better than seeing Engvall on a thousand times a day. Shepherd's Newlywed Game was also rerun-abused this summer. I tried to enjoy the show, but could not watch more than a few minutes of it.

Faceo15, I'll believe when I see it. I don't expect someone like David Goldhill to reply to a fantasy schedule.
