Bring Back Drew Carey's Improvaganza for a Second Season

As for Drew on TPIR, he's still no Bob Barker, and even the French host on the new Quebec version seems to have more life in him. Drew is certainly better than he was when he first started, but I still scream at the TV when I see him miss an opportunity at a good joke, or when a contestant needs consoling, or congratulating. His style is to get the show done, and keep to a strict schedule. Perhaps not entirely his fault, but Bob made it look like the show wasn't rushed, and that he sounded like he genuinely cared about the contestant's feelings. Drew still likes to mumble comments to himself, which doesn't come across effectively on TV. I could continue to say more, but this is a topic about the recent "lemons" getting the boot.

Which is exactly why I stopped watching the show as often as I used to in the past. I don't want to get into much of a discussion on this subject, since we're going off-topic here, but let's just say that I agree with you entirely Mystic.

Years ago when Drew took over from Bob, I gave him the chance to "wow" me as the new host of the show. That didn't happen. Now, he has lost weight, and I will admit that he has improved his hosting abilities to an extent, but there's something still "off" when I watch him host the show. As Mystic put it, Drew's style is to get the show done, according to schedule. And more often than not, it means rushing through it.

At this point, most people who disagree with my opinion of him on The Price Is Right will most likely say to me, "If you don't like him hosting the show, then who should host it instead?"

And the answer is that I do not know. All I do know, is that his taking over from Barker is what has changed me from watching it every day, to now watching it once every month or two.

In 1975, when the show's format was established, an hourlong show had 46 minutes to play with. Now, it's 38-39 minutes. That's the main reason Drew has to rush through at times.

To be honest, I think Drew handles the time limits of today better than Bob did in his last few years on the show in some respects. He didn't always do it, but further and further towards the end, Bob would hound players as little as only a couple seconds before they stated a bid or made a move (e.g. "JOE, WHAT'S YOUR BID???"). Drew doesn't really do that.

I have a question for you. Is Drew Carey's Improvaganza a game show? No, it is not. That's why the ratings were terrible. That's why Dancing With The Stars also failed on the network. This may be GSN, but it still stands for the Game Show Network. And now you've seen why there wasn't a second season.

GSN also isn't for Comedy Show Network and that's what Improv-A-Ganza was, it was a comedy show.

Because for a lot of people, Whose Line had better structure and was an all around better show. Not to mention this show didn't belong on GSN in the first place.

Improv-a-Ganza was one of GSN's least popular originals in the past half a decade. New views of "Improv-a-Ganza" only hit the upper 100K's a couple times, but closer to 100K most of the time. The show simply bombed on GSN in 90% of its time slots, but managed to do well enough I noticed on Saturday nights. The price is right aired between 1956–1965 on NBC. Switched to CBS and changed there format in 1972 with bob barker hosting.

Improv was horrible for GSN. Episodes rarely topped 200K in new runs, and forget about its midnight slot from August-November last year. Engvall did much better there, and now Baggage gets above 300K, almost 400K at midnight almost every night.

Surprised on the poll 21% of voters want Improv back. Probably all new to GSN users who just joined to get the show back
