I no longer have a pet. Patch was a wonderful Miniature Schnauzer, solid black fur with a little white Patch on his chin. He came with the house when I moved here, and even though I was scared of dogs, he and I grew quickly to be best friends. He liked to sit next to my wheelchair whenever I was chopping vegetables, waiting for a piece of carrot or broccoli or tomato or potato to drop onto the floor. He followed me around the house, and whenever I went out without him, he'd act like I had just returned from the dead when I rolled back into the house, jumping up and licking and barking. He would bark at other dogs on TV. He died of cancer this past January, and I miss him so. Some people have said I should get another dog, but it's too soon. There's not another who can replace Patch.

I have a dog named Cappucino, no relation to the coffee. He's fun to being part of the family.

I have a female dog named Joey. Named so because she looked like a baby kangaroo as a pup. She never grew into her ears and can hear a thunderstorm approaching from many miles away, giving her plenty of time to cower in my lap before it hits. In return when I'm sad she leans up against me as hard as she can with a paw on my lap, letting me know it's alright.

My last pet was a black toy poodle named Lilja (Finnish for Lily). Unfortunately, she died at the end of March and I have been looking for a new one. I've had a poodle in the past that was an old lady from the day she was born but Lilja acted like a puppy until the day she died. She had a pink heart that was originally a squeaky toy but Lilja played with it until it wouldn't squeak any more. Even though it would no longer squeak Lilja still hauled that heart around all the time; she would get upset if she couldn't find it. Lilja loved to be held and petted; she looked for every chance to get close to me and my family.

    Hey gsn angel,
my pet is ''furby'', he doesnt require alot of maintainance, but he is always there when i need to sound off my hectic everyday life. He sleeps with me and i struggle to keep him on his side of the bed..i love him a bunch and if something happens to him; ''herby'' is standing by, she is the sister of ''furby''. They fight over which side of the bed they are going to sleep on, i'm always in the middle

My dogs name is airhead. He is an airdale terrier that knocks over everything he walks past. We have to dog-proof our house, like most people baby-proof theirs.

I don't have any pets at the moment but I so miss having cats and parrots. Those are my favorites. I'm just not much of a dog person. At one time though, my husband and I were starting our own little Noah's Ark... we had two dogs, two cats and two parrots and us two humans.

It would be hard for me to choice just ONE pet, when I have several, and they are all my favorites! My 4yr old "Paint"horse is special her own way. Fancy is her name, and boy doesn't she know it. She loves to be brushed. Fancy makes a sweet sound and lets you know if you have missed a spot. Her favorite snack is carrots. My 6yr old dog "Rory" is a Border Collie, and her favorite toy is anything that squeaks or makes noise. If she can't find her toys then a plastic water bottle will do just fine! Rory loves food, and I can't think of one thing she doesn't like... However, my cats are my favorite too. I have 2 female Burmese cats who are sisters and they are 4yrs old. Bo is very laid back, and likes lounging around upside down. Bo prefers to sleep under the covers and on a pillow no less. Now Holly her sister, is just the opposite. Holly is very classy, and her attitude is very prim and proper. Holly is a "mommy's girl". And when she can't see me or find me, she starts calling out for me. Once I answer her, "Holly, I'm over here", she comes running and jumps on my lap or into my arms. She acts just like a child. Both of my cats love Tuna. This is their once a week treat. Since my family volunteer's with several animal rescues in our county, we also have a new addition to our family for a month or two. Right now, we are raising a baby "Raccoon". We named him "Rocky". Rocky is 4 weeks old, and bottle feeing him is a kick. He sits on your lap, and eats right out of your hand. As soon as he is old enough, then he will be introduced back into the forest, where we have a "Raccoon rescue reserve". Without any animals in our lives, I know we would be missing out on one of the greatest experiences ever.

My favorite pet is my family's 16-year old cat named Tigger. She was a gift from one of my 2nd grade classmates. My classmate had broken his arm, and as a gift to me for writing for him for multiple months, he offered me one of his cat's kittens. We went to his house the next day to pick out Tigger. Unlike most cats, Tigger is very affectionate. Whenever you are lying on the couch with a blanket over you, she will jump on top of you, curl up on the blanket, and take a nap. She will also follow you around when you're the only one in the house. She responds to her name and everything! I always thought of her as a dog in a cat's body. Just a few weeks ago, my mom called and told me that they had to put Tigger down. She had developed a heart condition that couldn't be treated and was in a lot of pain. I will certainly miss my Tigger, but I know why my parents did what they did. She was our first pet (other than goldfish), and I will always love and cherish the memories I had with her.
