My cat is named Smoky Bear, he's all black with yellow eyes. He is almost 1 year old. He loves his scratching post and his toys. But he's a lil devil. He attacks your feet out of nowhere and try to catch you as you walk by. He is an indoor/outdoor kitty. He has to come in at night, though, too many raccoons, possums, and other strays in this area. Heloves his dry food, but every once in a while as a treat, he gets a can of food. He can be troublesome sometimes, but I love my lil Smoky Bear.

It would be hard for me to choice just ONE pet, when I have several, and they are all my favorites! My 4yr old "Paint"horse is special her own way. Fancy is her name, and boy doesn't she know it. She loves to be brushed. Fancy makes a sweet sound and lets you know if you have missed a spot. Her favorite snack is carrots. My 6yr old dog "Rory" is a Border Collie, and her favorite toy is anything that squeaks or makes noise. If she can't find her toys then a plastic water bottle will do just fine! Rory loves food, and I can't think of one thing she doesn't like... However, my cats are my favorite too. I have 2 female Burmese cats who are sisters and they are 4yrs old. Bo is very laid back, and likes lounging around upside down. Bo prefers to sleep under the covers and on a pillow no less. Now Holly her sister, is just the opposite. Holly is very classy, and her attitude is very prim and proper. Holly is a "mommy's girl". And when she can't see me or find me, she starts calling out for me. Once I answer her, "Holly, I'm over here", she comes running and jumps on my lap or into my arms. She acts just like a child. Both of my cats love Tuna. This is their once a week treat. Since my family volunteer's with several animal rescues in our county, we also have a new addition to our family for a month or two. Right now, we are raising a baby "Raccoon". We named him "Rocky". Rocky is 4 weeks old, and bottle feeing him is a kick. He sits on your lap, and eats right out of your hand. As soon as he is old enough, then he will be introduced back into the forest, where we have a "Raccoon rescue reserve". Without any animals in our lives, I know we would be missing out on one of the greatest experiences ever.

My favorite pet is my family's 16-year old cat named Tigger. She was a gift from one of my 2nd grade classmates. My classmate had broken his arm, and as a gift to me for writing for him for multiple months, he offered me one of his cat's kittens. We went to his house the next day to pick out Tigger. Unlike most cats, Tigger is very affectionate. Whenever you are lying on the couch with a blanket over you, she will jump on top of you, curl up on the blanket, and take a nap. She will also follow you around when you're the only one in the house. She responds to her name and everything! I always thought of her as a dog in a cat's body. Just a few weeks ago, my mom called and told me that they had to put Tigger down. She had developed a heart condition that couldn't be treated and was in a lot of pain. I will certainly miss my Tigger, but I know why my parents did what they did. She was our first pet (other than goldfish), and I will always love and cherish the memories I had with her.

My favorite pet was my cat Josie. She was a runt that was abandoned under a shed, but the property owners' were kind enough to dig her out and bottle feed her til they passed her on to me. Her favorite thing to do was to play fetch with me after my surgeries. Josie had a tiny, stuffed pig and a tiny, stuffed snowman which she would drop at my feet since I couldn't move around too much. I would throw them both and tell her to get me either the Piggy or Snowman, and she did! She knew them by name! With a little help from her favorite treat, kernals of corn, she also learned several commands including sit, stay, come, lay down, bedtime, up, and no. She was my little cuddle buddy from the very beginning! Unfortunately, it did take her a while to figure out that my allergies + asthma = me not able to breathe!! But she did get it!! And, once she learned the proper way to lay with/on me we were inseperable. I tried to get my father to babysit her for a week while I was having another surgery, but we discovered she refused to listen to anyone other than me. It was nice though, walking in the door to her bounding down the hall and jumping into me like a miniature version of Scooby-Doo. My illness became too much and with me missing a lot of the time, I felt it was unfair to keep her in that situation. She was put up for adoption by a lovely lady (and her connections with an agency) and is doing just fine. She found another woman with difficulties moving around, so she gets to play fetch all the time now.

I have a 4 month old Chocolate Lab named Maggie. Her favorite activity right now is chewing on my foot or anything else for that matter. I can't wait until the baby teeth fall out!!

My current pets are the animals from the woods. This year the list includes deer (along with their baby fawns with the pretty white spots all over them), rabbits, squirrels, birds (especially a lot of red cardinals and blue jays this year) and of course the pesky groundhog family. We're still trying to convince that family to move away from our yard - lol.

My dog's name is Geronimo & my parakeets name is Birdie. Whenever my dog gets close to birds cage she start pecking like crazy. My dog always stays close to me so he can get his favorite treats like chicken jerky. They're both great pets, love em both.

I have had many different pets over the past 61 years. right now I have a cat named Herbie. He was not my cat to start with. He belonged to my daughter and I really didn't like him. He wasn't very friendly and kind of schizoid. My daughter moved and they were afraid that the coyotes were going to kill him because he was an outdoor cat. So we inherited Herbie. We let him in the house especially in the winter he doesn't like the cold but come the summer heat of 100 and he wants to the outside. Go figure! I was in the hospital for about two weeks and when I came home confined to bed. You'll never believe who didn't leave my bedside, Herbie. He's no longer my daughter's cat but our cat and I love him.

I currently don't have any pets of my own...My last pet (before she passed) was "CoCo"...a minature light-brown Poodle. She was the best dog in the world. I had her for 13 years. That dog wouldn't eat "dog food"...she had to eat what you were eating...or she wouldn't eat...not to mention..."pout like a baby." LOL...She was a big part of the family (like most animals become)...and I still miss her terribly. Her favorite food was "radishes"...LOL. I see my Sister's dogs frequently...so I have kind of "adopted them."

Up until March of this year, we had always had cats. But after our last cat died, we decided to wait 6 months and get a dog, so this March, we rescued an Australian Cattle Dog/Lab/Pointer mix and so I have my very first dog. (My husband has had them before.) What can I possibly say about Spot? (I know, dumbest name in the world, but it was the one he had--he's 2 1/2--and we didn't want to change it.) Only that he is the most awesome dog ever--he's sweet and loving, totally housebroken, hardly barks, doesn't chew, and though walking him can be difficult at times, since he's got a lot of energy and likes to pull, he is a terrific companion for me. His favorite food is the carrot/liver treats that I make for him from scratch (much cheaper and healthier than buying them) and his second favorite are the peanut butter dog biscuits I also make him. I really can't remember what my life was like before we had him.

I have always had a dog and my dog I have now is Murphy. However, I chose to tell you about another dog I sort of kidnapped when I was about a little girl! My Uncle had his first car & we had never ridden in a car before so we went on a trip to see family that Mom & he hadn't seen in years. I never met them, but was excited as they lived in the country and had some farm animals. While visiting the children of the family took me to see puppies their dog had just had a few weeks ago. They were collie dogs & looked like the TV dog lassie! Long story short after our visit our relatives walked mom and Uncle to the car. I had been outside with the children. So,we all said goodbye and started on our long trip (to us it was long) home. Suddenly everyone heard the whimper! The cat or should I say dog was out of the bag! I had hid one of the collie puppies that I had covered with something on my lap. It had been sleeping & woke up! He got louder with his crying & Uncle stopped the car! I knew I was in trouble as Mom said I couldn't have another dog. My last dog had died (another story). We were too far to turn back to the farm so we had to go home. They said they would take care of the dog & me (can you say spanking?) when we got to the house! Long story to a quicker end Mom & Uncle kept the dog for now they said till find it a home. Well, to now ended up being 13 yrs later and till I was married and moved away & Mom had to have help since I couldn't take him with me! He spent his final year on a farm where Mom had found him a home. He was surrounded with love and children to play with him! I'm sure he and all my other dogs & pets are running happily until I get there in Heaven! So, a true story of how "Pal" my collie who looked just like Lassie came to live with us! I will one day write a book as He literally saved Mom's and my life! That is a brave and funny story for another day! Thanks for letting me share a fond memory of a very dear member of my family as a child many many many years ago!

I have had a cat since I was a baby, I am now 71, I recently had to sell my house and give up my two cats, Moses and Boots, they were the loves of my life, they would meet me when I drove in the driveway and walk me out when I set out the trash, their love was unconditional, I miss them terribly and am so glad that my next door neighbor took them in and know they have a great home.

My cat's name is Shed Kitty because that's where we found her...........in out shed! She was wild at first but now she won't even go outside unless we're out there with her. She doesn't care much for other people either. She's getting a little better with adults but she's scared of children. I think they move too fast for her!

I have three cats. Holly Haha - male, 3 years old, Missy Marie 11 months old with two 1 week old babies and Squeaky Marie - female, 10 months old. My all time favorite pet was my pot belly pig named Starlight. She was 10 years old when she died. I remember her scaring the paramedics, firemen and police officers when they came to the house. Starlight would bark at them not oink. It was always funny. I had 4 pot belly pigs and two dogs that lived in my house with me but they have all pasted on. I sure do miss all of them alot. But I ready do love my cats and two kittens. I would not trade them for the world.
