In my house we have a all black long haired guinea pig named wilbur, he's very lovable but he whines alot mostly when we open the fridge. he's got to have those veggies. We also have 2 fish named monster and polly kids named them, of course the fish don't do much and can't cuddle but they are nice to look at and the kids love to feed them. Now if I could just get them to clean the guinea pig cage. Well those are my pets would like to get a cat soon but we'll see.

Thank you for sharing your pet stories, loved them! Pets bring a special joy to our lives don't they?

I see a number of people have pets who've passed away. I'm sorry for your loss. I wanted to let you know YouPet.com has a rainbow bridge tab, a place for the pets who were loved and lost.

Listed below are our 10 random winners of 500 Oodles:

MikeTheBear: I no longer have a pet. Patch was a wonderful Miniature Schnauzer, solid black fur with a little white Patch on his chin. He came with the house when I moved here, and even though I was scared of dogs, he and I grew quickly to be best friends. He liked to sit next to my wheelchair whenever I was chopping vegetables, waiting for a piece of carrot or broccoli or tomato or potato to drop onto the floor. He followed me around the house, and whenever I went out without him, he'd act like I had just returned from the dead when I rolled back into the house, jumping up and licking and barking. He would bark at other dogs on TV. He died of cancer this past January, and I miss him so. Some people have said I should get another dog, but it's too soon. There's not another who can replace Patch.

Boydslove: I have had a cat since I was a baby, I am now 71, I recently had to sell my house and give up my two cats, Moses and Boots, they were the loves of my life, they would meet me when I drove in the driveway and walk me out when I set out the trash, their love was unconditional, I miss them terribly and am so glad that my next door neighbor took them in and know they have a great home.

Mrtony307: my pet is ''furby'', he doesnt require alot of maintainance, but he is always there when i need to sound off my hectic everyday life. He sleeps with me and i struggle to keep him on his side of the bed..i love him a bunch and if something happens to him; ''herby'' is standing by, she is the sister of ''furby''. They fight over which side of the bed they are going to sleep on, i'm always in the middle

Monicenfungirl: My dog's name is Violet (actually Ultra-Violet) she's an Australian Cattle Dog mix. We gave her her name because he hair color has a blue/purple tint to it.

Phimat37: My cat's name is Mischief. We get her whats called Deli food, My cat doesn't like to play with toys much but My cat is cuddly!!! She loves to laze around, and by saying that, she is an indoor cat.

Tamchamb45: I have three cats. Holly Haha - male, 3 years old, Missy Marie 11 months old with two 1 week old babies and Squeaky Marie - female, 10 months old. My all time favorite pet was my pot belly pig named Starlight. She was 10 years old when she died. I remember her scaring the paramedics, firemen and police officers when they came to the house. Starlight would bark at them not oink. It was always funny. I had 4 pot belly pigs and two dogs that lived in my house with me but they have all pasted on. I sure do miss all of them alot. But I ready do love my cats and two kittens. I would not trade them for the world.

Breeziebeez1: I have a female dog named Joey. Named so because she looked like a baby kangaroo as a pup. She never grew into her ears and can hear a thunderstorm approaching from many miles away, giving her plenty of time to cower in my lap before it hits. In return when I'm sad she leans up against me as hard as she can with a paw on my lap, letting me know it's alright.

Iamme50: My cat's name is Shed Kitty because that's where we found her...........in out shed! She was wild at first but now she won't even go outside unless we're out there with her. She doesn't care much for other people either. She's getting a little better with adults but she's scared of children. I think they move too fast for her!

FeyForever: My favorite pet was my cat Josie. She was a runt that was abandoned under a shed, but the property owners' were kind enough to dig her out and bottle feed her til they passed her on to me. Her favorite thing to do was to play fetch with me after my surgeries. Josie had a tiny, stuffed pig and a tiny, stuffed snowman which she would drop at my feet since I couldn't move around too much. I would throw them both and tell her to get me either the Piggy or Snowman, and she did! She knew them by name! With a little help from her favorite treat, kernals of corn, she also learned several commands including sit, stay, come, lay down, bedtime, up, and no. She was my little cuddle buddy from the very beginning! Unfortunately, it did take her a while to figure out that my allergies + asthma = me not able to breathe!! But she did get it!! And, once she learned the proper way to lay with/on me we were inseperable. I tried to get my father to babysit her for a week while I was having another surgery, but we discovered she refused to listen to anyone other than me. It was nice though, walking in the door to her bounding down the hall and jumping into me like a miniature version of Scooby-Doo. My illness became too much and with me missing a lot of the time, I felt it was unfair to keep her in that situation. She was put up for adoption by a lovely lady (and her connections with an agency) and is doing just fine. She found another woman with difficulties moving around, so she gets to play fetch all the time now.

Rachelrunt: My cat is named Smoky Bear, he's all black with yellow eyes. He is almost 1 year old. He loves his scratching post and his toys. But he's a lil devil. He attacks your feet out of nowhere and try to catch you as you walk by. He is an indoor/outdoor kitty. He has to come in at night, though, too many raccoons, possums, and other strays in this area. Heloves his dry food, but every once in a while as a treat, he gets a can of food. He can be troublesome sometimes, but I love my lil Smoky Bear.

Thanks for choosing my pet story, its amazing how at 52yo, My pets are stuffed but I dont worry myself of ever losing them to humanity or other natural causes. 52 and have a stuffed pet(s), sounds alittle straNge but its why the previous statement I made is why I chose stuffed pets. Something always happens to ''real'' pets when I acquire them......eventually!!! Thanks again, tony
