Unhappy Flashing Ads A.K.A Oodles Blocker

CORRECTION IS IN ORDER....Do FLASHING ADS STEAL YOUR OODLES.....

Other than the advertisement before loading a game, is it just me, while playing a game there were certain FLASHING ADS prevented me from scoring high on the leaderboard.

I was playing this weekend warrior game (Mahjong Dark Dimensions), Crunchy Nut Cereal and Congratulation, You Are A Winner - Advertisments caused a lot of interventions...These ADs ran extremely slow...

Its just not only this particular game but I have noticed with other games on GSN...

I played the exact game (Mahjong Dark Dimensions) on Worldwinner and other game sites, my score TRIPLE for what I scored on GSN which range from 3200 - 6700. So if I scored 9600 - 21000 without those FLASHING ADS while playing, I believe I would make the leaderboad...

O yea, I know that GSN needs to promote their sponsors' ADs but why prevent you or me from achieving high scores to be on the leaderboard to earn extra Oodles while playing a game? I think GSN needs to take the FLASHING ADS from the equation when we are PLAYING a game...

I have adblock plus for my browser. You can probably do a search for it for your browser. I have it and no problems with getting oodles or anything since.

I'm not sure what the poll question means..."do flashing ads still your oodles?" Is that supposed to be "steal" your oodles? Or is it something else I'm not aware of?

I have a eye/brain condition where strobe lights flashing music videos, etc mess with my nerves. The bouncing balls, flickering "you're a winner" ads have the same effect. I either close the page or move the page off to the side to hide the ad.

I didn't really understand the question either...

And to vidpoker: Yes, those flashing ads are very obnoxious and I believe dangerous to anyone prone to seizures.

Do you mean still or steal?

I wanted to let you know that the one flashing sign that really hurts my eyes and give me a headache is the one that says you won or you were winner. I am sick of this sign and I have tried everything I can do to remove it for good but you can't and I am not interested on signing in because you then have to to surveys to win anything and you don't win anyway. please remove this

The flashing ads are an irritation and so are a lot of the pop-ups. I live with headaches and these flashing ads really make them worse. Under the old format I could close them off, but under this new one, you cannot do that. Also, the ones that if your mouse rolls over it the ad pops up. It is usually when I am working on a very good score that would put me up higher on the leaderboards. I realize GSN must have the ads to pay for prizes, etc., but do they have to be so irritating? I am also so sick of hearing/reading about bladder control and RA I could scream. They can't even change the ad once in a while. I know more about bladder control and arthritis than I want to know.

YES! It has happened to me several times. Especially, when I am scoring high on Lingo. I'm glad it isn't just me. Every now and then I have a great game - super game - and then it, well, disappears with some dumb ad running. Very discouraging.

VIDPOKER: I have multiple sclerosis, and the same thing can happen to me. I cannot play late at night.

    Remove all Flashing Ads

Having worked in the disability arena, I know for a fact that flashing ads can cause problems for those with disabilities. They should be completely turned off and not used at all. I hope GSN will do that, TURN THEM OFF.

We've requested the 2 flashing ads we know about to be removed from rotation (999,999 visitor and "You've Won!" *also talks*). I don't know how long that takes, 24-72 hours is best guess.

To remove ads we need to know where they originate from. Don't click on the ad itself, that will only take you to the place they're advertising, but if you use Firefox there's an add-on called Firebug that allows you to "inspect element" and you can see who is serving the ad.

I just learned this myself today! But in the future, the Firebug ad-on will be the best way to track them. If you download Firebug and need some tips on how to use it, go ahead and message me.

GSNAngel, Many thanks for your efforts. Sounds like I won't be the only one who will appreciate the removal of the flashing ads.

Thanks for the chuckle! I think your post was the first on GSN to make me laugh.
