I think everybody is eagerly anticipating Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year but I fear it will be all auctions and sweeps. I really hope I'm wrong.

How can you have a discounted auction except to have very low entrance fees. The bids on the gift cards will still be outrageous. This is no deal at all!

I know.. it's gonna be worse than usual. Everybody will be bidding-- and bidding high. It's absurd. If they're not going to have buy-it-now (which I really don't understand why they don't)... then they should just do all sweepstakes without an entry fee. Just give them away to people.

I really don't understand WHY the auctions and not buy-it-now? Why are they doing this to us? I guess because they can... but I don't really understand what the difference is on their end. So many of us have been waiting for this and they are letting us all down big-time.

Boo. I remember last year how new buy-it-now cards went up every hour and lots of people were able to score something. Auctions and sweepstakes? Again I say, Boo.

And the auctions and sweeps may mean that someone could win multiple sweeps and auctions. Whereas last year, you could only buy 1 gift card on Black Friday and 1 gift card on Cyber Monday - so a lot of people were able to get something. This year folks with lots of oodles could "win" many gift cards. Not as exciting this year for us regular folks.

As I have said I will be OUT of GSN if there are no Buy It Nows for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I have been hanging on by a thread waiting for this and I am sad to say I am not surprised. The only thing we can hope for is that GSN realizes the error of their ways. Even though so many of us have weighed in on this subject apparently more than enough others have been participating in auctions, sweeps and most mind boggling of all - BUYING WORTHLESS TOKENS! I can't control what others do but as I have said I for one (or 2 or 3...) will be gone if nothing "real" (aka Buy It Now) materializes here for the holiday season.

I know! I was thinking that too. If only we could organize it so that we each took a turn "winning" an auction by only betting the minimum. But it would be impossible.

Now, I will give credit when it's due. I was very excited to see this week's Book of the Week selection. I got it immediately. I've been waiting to get that book for about a year now (just like when they had "The Help" a couple of months ago). Although I noticed they raised the price AGAIN. The books were 16,500 for so long and then they jumped them up 10,000 oodles (!) to 26,500 and now they are going for 29,500. But since I know I don't need to worry about my 10-day limit since there will be no gift cards for buy-it-now on Nov. 24...I decided to get it.
