So what exactly happened to TheKid965's recaps? Did TheKid965 withdraw from doing recaps as of this week?

As for the cue used in Golden Road yesterday, it was used many times before - it was heard last February when a Cadillac was offered on 3 Strikes, and was also heard on last season's July 4 episode; March 9, 2009 (at least a variation of it); an episode from January 2010, and twice in April 2010 (one during Green Road, and the other during 3 Strikes).

The cue wasn't a recently added cue - its earliest known occurrence was on one of the Million Dollar Spectacular specials from the spring of 2003. Yes, that cue debuted when Rod Roddy was still announcing. The pricing game where that cue debuted was Five Price Tags, oddly enough - and a Corvette was offered during that playing.

I wouldn't declare it "the Golden Road cue" - as it is also used during 3 Strikes fairly frequently.

No. He's just on a temporary hiatus, that's all. Something about National Novel Writing Month and "personal issues". He'll be back later this week!
