Catch 21 vanishes from weekends, Lingo, The Newlywed Game & Baggage remain in reruns

Although originals are in "hiatus" right now, it really seems like Catch 21 is cancelled, and has been reduced to six times week. (weekdays at 2, and it's on again at 3am Mondays.) Four seasons was just enough I guess, and the show wore me at times.

Lingo, The Newlywed Game and Baggage are still featured on the home page, and Sherriwed plus Baggage still have episodes to air. Although some people may find Lingo offensive now, the show still deserves another season.

The question is how can GSN air originals without overkill, and what would be the best primetime slots for Lingo, Baggage and The Newlywed Game?

Baggage deserves another season, to be quite honest. People watch it just for Jerry Springer, given his "drama" style. I don't even know why it's been this long since we last had a new season.

Lingo does deserve a second season. It's just that Kelly Goode had resigned not too long ago, and Amy Davis has to get settled into her job and get used to it first. While the "awful" Lingo did not appeal to many users on this forum, a lot of people do enjoy it, even if it's not as great as Chuck Woolery's episodes from 2002 to 2007.

The Newlywed Game does deserve a new season too. Again, Kelly Goode's resignation may have led to a delay in producing further new episodes. It would be nice if Bob Eubanks could return to hosting it full time, but we know it ain't gonna happen.

Catch 21 lost me when they dumped the nice game show theme music in Season 1 for the lack-of-good-theme-music that began with Season 2 and continued throughout the rest of the future seasons. And the fact that the show seemed to change from a traditional game show to a more "it-feels-good-to-be-hip" type of game show.

GSN probably spent all their money on getting Dancing with the Stars, so now there's nothing left in the coffers to produce new episodes of anything at the moment.

There go my hopes of seeing fresh episodes of classics currently airing.

I know it was an eleven season purchase, but How much could that possibly cost?

We know all three of those shows have had great ratings in the past, but what is the right time slot for those shows to move in to?

I think The Newlywed Game and Baggage will do great with new episodes in there original time slot of 6 and 6:30. They are doing well enough with reruns right now in that time slot. In the Summer when Baggage was at 7:30PM ratings went down hill.

Lingo could do well at 7 or 7:30 with new episodes.

I think Baggage is awful and so is the present Newly Wed Game where most of the questions are just about sex.

    Lingo

Good Game. But I like the old game best.
