Well, according to the official GSN press release, it just says they will show DWTS "every Saturday night" so this seems to me to imply that it may truly only be a once-a-week thing. I know that GSN has been known to wear out programs quick in the past by airing them over and over again, but I think that they probably won't be dumb enough do that with DWTS, because it's a different beast than your average game show, due to the "results show" nature of the program.

    Updates from Alex Davis:

This quote is directly from Alex's Facebook http://www.facebook.com/buzzerblog/p...50468968283493

"From next week on, every Friday night is The $100,000 Pyramid. Each Monday night is now GSN originals. This coming weekend is Bill Engvall Lingo. The 26th is Chain Reaction. January 2nd is Whammy. January 9th Chuck Woolery Lingo. January 16th is Catch 21."

So it looks like the $100K Pyramid thing is permanent; MG, CS, and Dawson Feud are gone from Friday nights for good. More evidence that the lease on $25K Pyramid probably ran out.

Also, after its first airing on Saturday nights, apparently the same DWTS episodes will rerun again on Sunday afternoons at 1:00PM: http://www.facebook.com/buzzerblog/p...50468967698493

Hmmm. Well, I sure enjoyed The $25,000 Pyramid while it lasted here on GSN. Goodbye, you had a very good run

As for the originals, that's an interesting development. It's OK. Hope they pull out the Season 1 2008 episodes of Catch-21 on the 16th of January.

At least the IMO far superior $100,000 Pyramid stays, especially of Fridays.

I'm fine with the Friday night decision. MG has been beat to death this year, and Dawson Feud just isn't working anymore. I would have liked to have seen Card Sharks stay around personally also but I'm not brokenhearted it's gone as well.

That's going to be way too many airings. People aren't going to watch it Saturday night then Sunday afternoon again. That's 10 hours of Dancing with the Stars over the weekend I believe.

How does 2 hours Saturday night and RERUNNING them again Sunday afternoon equate to 10 hours?

I'm confused, is it all Saturday night or is it just a couple hours early Saturday night then Family Feud?

My understanding from others is 2 hours. The dance show followed by the results show whatever all that means.

I would not mind all Pyramid all night if it is good. My DirecTV program guide claims the John Davidson version is on during the 10PM hour, but when I record it, it's Clark.

Just a mistake by DirecTV; GSN never has aired Davidson's Pyramid and there is a 99% chance they never will. That's okay; Dick's version is far superior anyway. In my opinion, Dick Clark was and always will be a part of what made Pyramid so great, and no one can replace him.

I'm just glad somebody recognizes the Davidson version exists.

I'll be damned. It does indeed say John Davidson. I actually liked the open to that version best.

    ^^^ALL OF THIS!^^^

Dick Clark is the best Pyramid host, always was and always will be...Cullen is the only one who ever came close, but each of those men is in a class by himself, IMHO.

I don't think GSN gave Bill Engvall THAT much money considering it was only a 40 episodes run, and he was also a co-producer I believe. GSN gives so much more money to Jerry Springer and Sherri Shepherd. GSN doesn't have as many expenses right now compared to earlier in 2011. The show was just more expensive because of the $100,000 top prize that was only given out twice. Most contestants on the show won about or less than $10,000. Some only won $3,000-$5,000 and maybe a prize ball. That's the most expensive operation at GSN right now. The Newlywed Game gives out prizes and a 7-day second honeymoon (probably costs a couple thousand dollars), and Baggage just gives out a date at a nice steak house restaurant if the dater accepts the other person's Baggage. Otherwise, it's just online gaming, buying and renewing classics (and DWTS), and paying network executive's their salaries. The network also receives so much money through advertising. Lingo was not that expensive in general.

Sounds like DWTS might be 3 episodes a night. If Season 4 ends March 3, 2012.
