Will we ever see another "Million Dollar Spectacular" on TPiR again?

We haven't seen one in a while. Has The Price is Right done away with the MDS for good? Will we see another MDS again?

I honestly don't know. What do you guys think?

I think they should air another MDS. It would be nice for the show's 40th season. The only questions are, is Mike Richards willing to one?, does the show have enough money in their budget in order to offer more expensive and amazing prizes? and is there a good time and day during the week that CBS can air one in primetime?

I just hope it shows up in primetime again, period. (I don't care if it's an MDS or just a show with higher stakes)

Million Dollars to Overrated. How about $2 Million?

$2 Million was possible during the 2008 MDS's. A contestant could have won $1,000,000 on his/her million dollar pricing game, and that same contestant could have won another $1,000,000 in the Showcase.

As for my vote, I said no. Reason being is possibly because of the fragile economy, plus they truly cannot afford to offer more luxury cars in primetime, let alone in daytime. Golden Road, Triple Play and 3 Strikes gets played even less nowadays, so why would they want to offer such expensive prizes in primetime?

I wish they would do another MDS sometime soon. It would have happened, if it hadn't been for people voting for idiots like Nancy Pelosi that were responsible for the downfall of the economy (okay, I'm sorry I went into political mode here, but still).

Winning a million dollars was also much easier this time around, too. When Barker was still hosting, it was nail-bitingly much more difficult.

The recession began in December 2007, however, BEFORE the Carey MDS's were taped.

Plus, I think the only reason we don't have any MDS's at the moment is because there's not enough room on the CBS schedule. Who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky.

CBS launching another prime time series in 2003, titled The Price Is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular. The 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike and original success in the Nielsen ratings led CBS to commission ten more episodes of the prime time series. This series introduced set changes as the show was broadcast in high definition television for the first time, and the set used for these episodes (except for the black floor) was moved to the daytime show in 2008

The million-dollar spin was eliminated for Season 36 and was replaced with two other methods of winning the prize. One pricing game per episode was selected as a "million-dollar game" with an additional requirement that the contestant must meet in order to win the money. In the Showcase round, the double showcase win rule was adjusted to include the million dollar prize if the winning contestant came within $500 (originally $1,000) of the actual retail price of their showcase. No prime time episodes have been produced since summer 2008

During an interview from 12 years ago, the 86 Primetime specials were mentioned and I heard Bob Barker say that Les Moonves (as well as the primetime programing guy when Bud Grant ran CBS) didn't like game shows. Given that Barker really wanted to do primetime TPIR and Les Moonves doesn't like game shows, I'd say the chances of some more Primetime specials are pretty slim. The only reason I think they did those in 2008 was because of the writer's guild strike and as a way to promote Drew Carey as the new host. Not to mention with the new rules there were 3 (if memory serves) million dollar wins and that scared the network.
