Read this quote taken from THIS ARTICLE:
So yeah, it sounds like the vast majority of the Internet will be affected, as they are comprised mostly of non-American sites. If anything, DailyMotion will be affected, but not YouTube. BigJon's site will not be affected. This site will not be affected. There must be some misinformation with this issue, yet people are freaking out as if the sky is falling.Smith stressed the bill would only affect websites based outside the United States and criticised opponents for failing to cite specific sections, saying many have failed to read it and were disguising their economic interests with rhetoric about Internet freedom.
But what I wonder is, seeing I live in Canada, will American-based websites be blocked in Canada or elsewhere in the world? I am pretty confident that Canada hasn't done anything SOPA/PIPA-like, and probably won't for quite some time.
I am also wondering, will this bill affect Second Life if it passes into law? If I recall, Second Life is American-based, and I am worried that it may affect Canada.
