If you haven't been watching 1 VS 100 (and you probably should be), be sure to tune in all next week starting January 3rd. The top prize will be doubled to a huge $100,000 and all the other prizes get a nice increase, too. A preview of an exciting moment is on the show's page. Check it out. Looking forward to this week.

so that means Carrie gets to mention $100,000 1 googol times per show

Has anybody won the $50,000 top prize yet, if not, what has been the most amount of money someone has won?

I had a FEELING that GSN would increase the top prize to $100,000. It just didn't seem right at $50,000 but now it's awesome!

In the 32 episodes that have aired since today, no one (neither The One nor The Mob) has left with more than $10,000. Now I'm proud to say that I hope GSN renews the series for a 4th season and KEEPS the $100,000 top prize.

Carrie Ann's version of 1 vs. 100 stinks. The prize is too low. Saget's version was better. People could get 100,000 easier. I liked the first rounds at 1000 per person eliminated, then 2000, 3000, etc. It was easier to get high prizes. Carrie is horrible at hosting. I hope this show gets cancelled or retooled back to the way it was with Saget.

Well, it would be nice if they renewed it for a second season before that.

I hope this show gets cancelled or retooled back to the way it was with Saget.
Welcome to cable. No way GSN can offer the kind of prize money that Saget's version did. Compared to the other originals currently on the schedule, even a fifty grand top prize is big. Baggage doesn't give away anything except a few dates and some time on a dating service. (The show probably does give a lot of money to Jerry Springer.)

Another tweak I've noticed in more recent 1 vs. 100 eps is that Carrie Ann is dressing a little more, let's say, conservatively. The hyphenated Carrie-Ann (Grosvenor) was getting all sorts of complaints that the unhyphenated Carrie Ann dressed too, um, revealingly.

1 vs. 100 may be suffering from post-Baggage syndrome. Carrie Ann has produced decent numbers but nothing like Jerry. So I'm not surprised by the tweaks. Nowadays, if an original doesn't do 500K+ numbers, it looks like a flop next to Baggage.

He's counting the 2 seasons on NBC as well...and it would be wonderful if people could judge these shows on their own merits and stop comparing them to what came before.

Yeah, I thought something like that was going on. But I couldn't resist a (very) little joke. Actually, it was sort of one season on NBC interrupted by a hiatus. And if you're gonna get interrupted, a hiatus is a painful way to get it.

Wanted to clarify something. The $100,000 top prize will only be for the week of January 3rd. Then the final two first-run episodes of the third season will air January 10th and 11th.

I'm not happy with the show because of the tweaks that GSN put in. Unless someone actually wins the top prize on the week of the 3rd, I doubt it would make a difference. If anything, it might be a last-ditch effort to raise the mediocre ratings. One game show blog webmaster and GSN can do so much to promote the show; the show's execution is usually the ultimate factor of how the ratings will turn out.

Aw... Well, I'm keeping my hopes up anyway. $100,000 as a top prize is awesome, especially for a show like 1 VS 100.

Last night's episode (Dec. 30th) was pretty exciting as well. First time everyone got the question wrong and no one left with anything. That gave me a good laugh though.

I agree that Carrie Ann is not a good host. She makes the shpw unwatchable for me. Get a new host.

Don't forget, starting tonight and for this week only, the top prize is $100,000
