Card Sharks On Hiatus in January 1989?

I found a video on the Internet recently that I remember seeing the audience polling group from (I think it was a bunch of cheerleaders). I remember seeing an episode with such audience polling group early in January 1989, and I found out yesterday the episode originally aired in 1988 (presumably May or June), as the Jokers Car Game was played and Lacey was still noticeably pregnant on that episode.

My question is, is it possible there may have been a period of reruns of Eubanks' Card Sharks in January 1989 (just like there was with Press Your Luck - a show in danger of cancellation - in the summer of 1986)? If so, for how long did the reruns last?
