Well it used to do good, for your info. If GSN aired it like this, it could do well again. Just saying. I added those because that's Card Game Thursday. I wish people would stop judging schedules. These are suppose to be our dream schedules and people should respect that. Although I did say yours was too much jhshifris. Sorry about that and I understand that's your dream schedule for prime time.

If they're going to keep things relatively close to as-is, I'd say swap MG74/75 for MGPM. At least some bigger money and we're not stuck in the same calendar year (plus depending on your perspective, Richard is either there or "GONE--GOOD RIDDANCE!").

No, actually, it's not. It's what GSN can consider showing instead of what they got now instead of some more rerun abuse.

Umm, it's not like GSN actually listens to us. I don't believe they listen to our comments here. Maybe about classics and their shows but not scheduling. I'm sorry.

Doesn't GSN know what to do with Dawson's Feud now that it's not doing that well?

  8. #608
GSN's schedule has become very bad What Is the constant repeating of newlywed game and family feud is a real turn off . Need to more varity and different shows examples bring back millionaire , a minute to win it , don't forget the lyrics ( wanye brady editon) singing bee (nbc edition) Drew carey impov ( Don't overshow it . Also don't repeat the same show in the same night Have seen that several times with 5th grader . I hope some one reads this before it's too late

I really don't want to see them get rid of it. That would be just sad. He was the best, in my opinion I would like to see Combs back as well. Maybe a Feud hour at 8am leading into the rest of the day. I honestly could care less about Combs' Feud though, I think it's okay.

Just a shame the way they treat the classics. I agree, do what works but, Classics belong 8am - 2pm, Newer shows 2pm and onward. Older people are the ones who watch mostly anyway, as I mention.

Weekends could be Classics 9am - 12pm, Newer shows 12pm and onward. Does anybody wanna watch the same old rerun abuse?

People may get mad at me, but here's my updated schedule idea. No, I don't know what gets what in ratings so this may make everyone laugh.

***I have my reasons for the 8am-10am hours which become clear hopefully later in the schedule. It has nothing to do with I think they will get 300K viewers or anything***

    8am-Lingo
    8:30am- Chain Reaction
9am-Press Your Luck/Whammy (that means both versions)
    9:30am-Catch 21
    10am-Card Sharks
    10:30-$25K/$100K Pyramid
    11am-Hollywood Squares
    11:30am-Password/Password All-Stars/Password Plus/Super Password/any other version I may have missed that's a half hour
    Noon-Match Game 7x/Syn
    12:30pm-Family Feud (Dawson/Combs)
1pm-Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
    2pm-Deal or No Deal
    3-5pm- repeat of 8am-10am episodes
5pm-Family Feud (those two other fellas that don't host the show that they air all the time)
    5:30pm-Family Feud (Harvey)
    6pm-Newlywed Game
    6:30pm-Baggage
    7pm-Pyramid (Osmond)
7:30-Different show each day, preferably half hour shows that aired once a week but if there aren't 5 that'd work let's go this route for the sake of getting through this timeslot:
    Monday-Inquizition
    Tuesday-Hollywood Showdown
    Wednesday-Friend or Foe
    Thursday-3s a Crowd
    Friday-Match Game PM
8pm-11pm: some sort of prime time lineup be it REASONABLE block scheduling (not all classics all week) or new programming, whatever.
    11pm-Repeat of 5-6pm episodes
    Midnight-4am: Repeat of 8pm-Midnight

Here is my thought process. First off, variety is the name of my game.More shows means nothing gets run into the ground. 8-10am: I know this will po some but those hours aren't sacred cows for just old shows. Placing these shows there is going to probably get just as good of ratings as anything else, maybe better since they are newer, and it gives a chance to rerun them later in the day sparing even more show leases which may or may not get viewers and where even more are apt to watch.
7-8pm: In most markets, the 7-8pm Eastern hour is up against WOF/J and first run Harvey Feuds. Why not try something different here? A newer version of some older favorites or old once a week airings of shows. Save that hour of block scheduling or other programming for a different time.

Here's what GSN should do with the schedule, IMO.

    Weekday:
    8:00am - Family Feud (Dawson)
    8:30am - Family Feud (Combs)
    9:00am - Match Game (70's)
    9:30am - Password Plus
    10:00am - Card Sharks (Perry)
    10:30am - The $25,000 Pyramid
    11:00am - Super Password
    11:30am - Match Game (70's)
    12:00pm - The $100,000 Pyramid
    12:30pm - Card Sharks (Eubanks)
    1:00pm - Pyramid
    1:30pm - Pyramid
    2:00pm - Lingo (Woolery)
    2:30pm - Lingo (Woolery)
    Rest stays the same.

    Weekends:
    9:00am - Lingo (Woolery)
    9:30am - Whammy!
    10:00am - Chain Reaction
    10:30am - Whammy!
    11:00am - Match Game (Syn)
    11:30am - Catch 21
    12:00pm - Match Game PM
    12:30pm - Card Sharks (Rafferty)
    1:00pm - The $100,000 Pyramid
    1:30pm - Pyramid
    2:00pm - The $25,000 Pyramid
    2:30pm - Pyramid
    3:00pm - Family Feud (Karn)
    3:30pm - Family Feud (O'Hurley)
4:00pm - The Newlywed Game (Shepherd)
4:30pm - The Newlywed Game (Shepherd)
    5:00pm - Million Dollar Password
6:00pm - Deal or No Deal
7:00pm - Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?
    Rest stays the same.

It's a better looking weekend schedule than we have now, IMO. Pyramid could do well on weekends as well, both versions. It would still be nice to bring back Card Sharks (Rafferty) on weekends, IMO.

Don't let people make you mad. I say, it's your dream schedule. People don't like it, tough. Some people try schedules they think will get good ratings (like me), that's fine. But I say, it's your dream schedule.

Trust me, this is NOT my dream schedule. It's one I just think could be realistic and solve a lot of their problems.

Understood but, I mean, the whole schedule , can't be made of classics. That's your dream schedule, but I'm doing ones I think can get fair ratings. If GSN wanted to.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy your schedule. It's a combo of classics, originals and newer shows. But I like schedules that have a block of classics and newer shows the rest of the day. That's how my dream schedules usually go.

Actually, I would never really want GSN to go back to a 100% classics schedule, not that it will ever happen. For now if GSN can extend classics to 1 or 2pm weekdays, that would be great but by 3pm or so I would want to see modern shows.
