    Are oodles worth the time?

Doesn't it seem like oodles are basically worthless? There aren't any good "Buy it Nows", and people bid way over something is actually worth in the bidding section. So what is the point of oodles? The time it takes to get the 30000 oodles, or however much it takes for a $10 gift card could be way better spent on almost any other site. I have made WAY more on Swagbucks and even Irazoo, than i have here, in so much less time. Why can't you sell amazon gift cards for a fair amount of oodles GSN?!!!!

Sadly, oodles have become worth much less over the past 18 months. Just a little over a year ago, for 2010's Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotions, the gift cards offered were all buy-it-now and I was able to get two $10.00 Starbucks cards and a $25.00 Walmart card and was very happy. This year? Nothing. And at the same time that $10.00 gift cards were going for 80,000 oodles in auctions, they had the nerve to put up one or two buy-it-now $25.00 KeyBank gift cards for 30,000 oodles--which is what they (and WE) believe they should be worth. I know people were waiting for Thanksgiving to get cards and were greatly disappointed that there were only auctions and a few sweepstakes. I keep wondering what I'm still doing here obsessively collecting oodles. My answer? Habit.

It's really too bad. With how successful the Tokens program has been, you'd think they would try to keep us oodlers a little satisfied... but no. It just keeps getting worse, with now even board games that used to be offered to buy outright now offered as auctions. I really love(d) this site but I have been asking myself what I'm doing here with so much of my time. Very sad.

It seems we're all holding out, hoping it gets better. But i believe many people are leaving.

I actually won the staples $200 gift card on the bid auction recently. I bid 434000, which is alot, but I think I got a bargain considering $100 caeds were going for 400000 and up. That used up pretty much all my oodles. Now I just play the promotions I like. Eventually maybe I'll have enough for another small prize. I do have to say that now I spend most of my time elsewhere.

I did not know that you had to bid so high for all the prizes and the staple money I have bid 50,000 but I have found that as it cost 434000, for the staple money of 250.00 to woin.. I have read other people cost to get something and it was so high so, I feel I am wasteing my time try to ever get anything It is so sad that we work so hard to get enought oodles to be able to by something beside lip balm and books but if you look at the price of the items that people have bid and what it is worth they we are getting not much when you have to pay the entry cost ot bid and we don't get that back then the one who is winning is gsn. I guess I'll keep on playing because I love the games but I see now that I will never get enought to buy anything worth while I wish they would charge you what the item is worth and not how much they can get from the bidders. thanks

Congratulations, gumbyjim! Yes, that is a pretty decent ratio of oodles/dollars considering what a fiasco Black Friday/Cyber Monday was and what the cards were going for.

My husband and I both play the games for oodles. We both redeemed 30,000 oodles for the $25.00 key bank mastercards on 12-12-2011. Being that it had already been 6 weeks I e-mailed gsn help to ask where they were. I received a e-mail today stating they has refunded our oodles because "one card per player". It was one card per player. This is the final blow for me. I'm done with this. I have truely been lucky in the past and appreciated winning a tv on one of the last live shows last may. I feel like gsn is no longer loyal to it's players. I feel this is going to happen to my son and daughter-in-law as they both redeemed oodles for the key bank cards also on 12-12-2011. Has anyone else had a problem getting their prizes? This is the first time for me.

How do you know how many the auctions are going for?

There was a thread created a while back asking for people to share what they had spent on auctions. And for the Black Friday/Cyber Monday thing this past November, many people on a Facebook page where GSN people gather were disclosing what they had either bid and not won or bid and won.

Obviously, I don't know what all the auctions go for (nobody does, since GSN chooses not to tell us) but I'll tell you this... you can't get a $25.00 gift card for 30,000 oodles like they have (had) the KeyBank cards going for. I never did get one of those.

I tried to get the $200 Gas Card.. no go. Recently tried to get that Ice Cream maker they had up for bid and I put up 75,000 oodles and still couldn't win it. People must be bidding ALOT in order to win the prizes. I guess I won't be able to really try for something until I'm able to bid at least 100,000. Psh.

Oh yeah, Jessika.... I'm sure that $200.00 gas card went for near half a million oodles. And the ice cream maker? My conservative estimate is 300,000 or so.

Wow, Squishmar.. Way more than I was orginally thinking. Ah, well. Some day.... maybe

Now, of course I don't KNOW for sure... and I don't want to discourage you from bidding, but from what information I've gathered here and on FB... things are going for a lot of oodles. But I just don't want you to waste the entry fee oodles without a shot at winning. I do wish (as so many others do) that they'd disclose what the items went for. Oh well...

Meanwhile, I don't know why they don't put up, say, 20 $5.00 Amazon gift cards regularly for buy-it-now at whatever price they want to put to it (say, 15,000 oodles) and make 20 people happy and satisfied, rather than have just ONE $100.00 gift card that only ONE person gets. Just have a reasonable, desired item regularly available to make our time worthwhile and so we feel we are really able to GET something with our hard-earned oodles. I just don't understand it.
