    The 8am hour

This came up on another one of the threads earlier today, did you think Paid Programming was better in the 8am hour or Match Game? Paid Programming brings in revenue for GSN, and Match Game has been getting pretty low numbers, which weighs down the daytime averages. Plus the episodes have been shown so many times over the course of 2010 and 2011.

Considering the fact the daytime average was MUCH lower than it is now, I say keep it. It averages around 100-150K, and also considering 9am used to never achieve that, I say keep it. If only Douglas' old site was still up, you could see it.

I voted other because I think there does need to be more variety and 2 hours of Match Game in 4 hours within the same year and a half is excessive. That said, if they put something else on at 11 than leaving MG at 8 is ok too.

I say keep Match Game - at least until after GSN adds more episodes. If they do add more episodes, that is.

I've been saying, ditch the 8AM hour for awhile but, now I think, keep the 8am hour and keep it Match Game.

I doubt paid programming attracts all that many viewers, but I could be wrong. Match Game, as many times as they've repeated these same handful of episodes, helps out the 9am shows. When Paid Programming opened up the day and Family Feud would air at 9:00am, they would have 50-75k, now they have over 100-150k.

I selected other though, since I would like to see a new variety of Classics to air at this hour, just to give MG a rest for a bit. If they're not going to obtain more MG episodes, then try another Classic series.

But it's not a matter of how many viewers. It's a matter of do they benefit more financially having someone pay to be in that slot or do they generate enough revenue to justify the 8am hour having something in it. Apparently it's the latter. I dont think it'd be there otherwise.

How about putting Syn in that hour, if they would actually get it? It's still Match Game (which is good for the 9 am hour), but at least we get a little variety. And I still think they need to dump Darn Karn in the morning, because he's not doing anything to help. Password Plus or Super Password would be a much better fit in that slot, and both are proven ratings winners among classics.

If GSN could lease it, it would be a good idea for 8 and 8:30am, and then regular Match Game at 11 and 11:30am.

I say put SYN at 8, PM at 8:30 (it encompasses both eras of the show). I would put the CBS hour at noon, and have Password Plus/Super Password hour at 11:00am.

Whatever GSN shows at 8:00 Eastern Time, they should show it at 8:00 Pacific Time -- just as the regular broadcast networks do for daytime and prime time programs. That way GSN can get better ratings.

Either Match Game or Press Your Luck is good enough for me at that time, as long as my DVR/VCR works.

GSN doesn't do it like other cable networks where they have the same programming at the same time for the East and West Coast? So Match Game starts at 5am in California?

I assume they do not have an East Coast/West Coast feed. Many networks don't. Now I do think they should do that with primetime which is something many cable outlets do. Air prime time from 8-11pm Eastern, then immediately rerun it again from 11pm-2am. That would be primetime on the east.
