Lightbulb Another "What if" idea for Fremantle and classic game shows

Here's another "What If" idea for Fremantle and its classic game shows if GSN can't approve a new deal...

What if Time Warner (owners of Warner Bros., The CW Network, DC Comics, HBO, CNN, TBS, TNT, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, and the magazines of Time and People and Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly among others) struck a deal to acquire Fremantle Media? If it did, Time Warner could own the rights to Fremantle's Goodson-Todman classic game shows (TPIR, Match Game, Tattletales, Family Feud, What's My Line, To Tell The Truth, Beat the Clock, Card Sharks, I've Got a Secret, etc.) and the other classics Fremantle owns (Press Your Luck, Sale of the Century, Chuck Woolery Scrabble, Let's Make a Deal, David Ruprecht Supermarket Sweep), and the reality shows Fremantle owns (American Idol, America's Got Talent)? If there's a Time-Warner/Fremantle merger, we could see a possible launch of a classic game show cable channel of Fremantle/Goodson-Todman classics (and maybe some of the game shows/reality Warner Bros. owns - 3rd. Degree, Love Connection, People's Court, Fun House, Perfect Match 1986, $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime, So You Think You Got Troubles, Real People) to compete with a maybe aling GSN? Why not? The Time Warner owned Cartoon Network airs the Fremantle produced Hole in the Wall, and this could get TPIR host Drew Carey back to his roots since Warner Bros. produced The Drew Carey Show.

What do you think of this idea?

I doubt Time Warner has any interest in old game shows, period.

    Will these things ever stop?

Can switching to Geico save you 15% or more on car insurance?

To answer dtheine's question, nobody knows. BTW, FremantleMedia does NOT own Supermarket Sweep (in the U.S.).

hey Chameleonwhammy, if you wanted to do a Geico rhetorical question commercial parody it should have been like this:

could switching to Geico really save you 15% or more on car insurance?

is airing reruns of Dancing With The Stars on GSN a bad idea?

(GSN fans throw their TV's out of their window's and start cursing and getting angry and have riots)

(Followed by the losing horn sound melody from TPIR)

Geico, 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance.

I sure hope not. The sheeple at GSN deserve all the "whining" they get from fans of classic and quality programming (such as dtheine and myself).

David Ruprecht Supermarket Sweep was a show GSN could have picked up if it didn't waste money on Dancing With the Stars reruns, same for reruns of Shop Til You Drop with Pat Finn! :-(
