I watched it because this season was on around the time my dad passed away and I missed most of this season. I love watching Julianne and Opolo dance. It was good seeing the pros again. Other than that I fast forwarded through most of the dances. It was 5 hours long and I gather that every Sat they will be doing one week worth of the shows in one night.

    Let's boycott said sponsors.

I haven't seen that show airing, but I probably wouldn't watch it. They have a show like The Newlywed Game clone. They're pretty low budget, but they add some variety to my game show viewing.

According to GSNAngel in another thread, any posts with the following are not permitted:

    Inappropriate language

This includes sexually explicit language, vulgarities and swearing. The forum allows ages 13 and up and needs to have content appropriate for all ages.

    Attacking or harassing other members

Belittling or attacking others for how they think or feel, name calling or debasement of any kind is not allowed. People are free to have their say within reason. If you think someone's post is unreasonable, please report them or place them on ignore.

Attacking or insulting Hosts (GSN Live, Originals, etc) or Employees

People are free to express their thoughts but name-calling, personal attacks, and general hate language towards GSN will not be tolerated. Comment on the shows, schedule, etc but do not get personal.

I am not sure if your post had any of these in them or not; if it did, that is why it was deleted. All this being said, if you don't like what you're seeing from the network, then the best type of "free speech" to use is that of just boycotting or not watching the network. That's what I'm doing right now. I don't see anything I care to watch on the network right now so I don't watch it. I think we should be allowed to voice our opinion, but unfortunately sometimes ratings speak louder than words. If DWTS does well in the ratings, then unfortunately it is here to stick around, and there's nothing our complaints are going to do about it. If the show doesn't do so hot in the ratings, then it may be dropped or have it airings cut down sooner or later.

Yeah, unfortunately ad revenue is what it's all about. Just like any major corporation, GSN is in business to make money, and a good way to do this is through ad revenue. Unfortunately, GSN is able to charge a great deal more for advertising on a show like DWTS than they would be on a 25-year old episode of $100,000 Pyramid. It's the same reason why networks such as TV Land while showing old shows, also show modern stuff like Everybody Loves Raymond and Hot in Cleveland as well.

I hate DWTS, but unless it fails epically in the ratings department, I don't think it will go anywhere soon if solely because of its value in advertising dollars.

The thing that bugs me more than anything is the excessive rerun abuse of the show and sheer lack of variety and rerun abuse rampant all over the rest of the schedule. If GSN had limited the airings of DWTS to just Saturday evenings and had maybe picked up a couple more different game shows to add more variety to the overall schedule, then the presence of DWTS wouldn't really bother me at all. It just is frustrating to me that GSN is kind of placing all their eggs in one basket right now, and like I said before I think it's because they're seeking big advertising dollars.

It's not about the money and sponsors, it's about the next upcoming turmoil of possible ratings in the toilet or something like that for GSN with the current DWTS fiasco!

Do you listen to yourself? Yeah GSNs execs are sitting in a room somewhere saying "hmmmm, what can we do to create ratings turmoil and screw our station." Yeah that's what they are really doing. Get a grip!

So what? I don't like it, and won't watch it. I will stick with Food Network and HGTV...they truly appreciate their viewers. Until GSN starts acquiring real game shows again (meaning things like WOF, Password, etc.), I'm not watching.

Since when did Dancing with the Stars become a GAME show? What a BIG disappointment to have this take ALL the time this weekend replacing ALL my favorite shows. In my opinion, BIG MISTAKE

Yes, BIG MISTAKE, and I hope GSN pulls it off the schedule after a few weeks, 1-2 to be exact!

Nick GAS was a fun channel! It had a very limited schedule for the last few years, but there were enough episodes of each program that it didn't feel like rerun abuse, even though the channel was 100% automated.

I'd also like to add "free speech" has never applied to privately owned message boards. When people create an account on message boards such as ours, they tacitly agree to abide by our rules. That's the part where they check agreed to terms & conditions. Part of our terms & conditions means following the posting rules.

If GSN drops DWTS after a few weeks, without any new lease deals, GSN could turn its last few months 100% automated still giving us rerun abuse with its 200-400 classic leases!

GSN would not be that stupid. What I don't get is why Sony isn't pulling more stuff out of its library. They have access to all these producers (Heatter-Quigley, Barry-Enright, Barris, Stewart, Griffin), but they don't use what they have effectively.
