Oooooooooh, NL EAST RIVALRY! Let's get the game rolling!

    (Baseball IQ theme)

Matt Vasgersian: Hello everyone, I'm Matt Vasgersian. Welcome to Baseball IQ, MLB Network's first-ever game show. This show is designed to test your knowledge of all things baseball. Of course we cant have a game show without contestants and here they are. Representing the New York Mets, samoson and representing the Atlanta Braves, gameshowmaniac27330. Now, on the board, there are 8 categories. Each inning, the player in control will select a category. When a category is chosen, I'll give you a list. The more correct answers you give, the more runs you score. Give an incorrect answer or run out of time, the opponent scores the runs. There's also the opportunity for the 'Big Inning', but I'll explain that when the time comes. Whoever has the most runs after the 9th inning wins the game. Here are the categories for tonight's contest.

    World Series MVPs
    Free Agent Acquisitions
    Last In The National League
    Cy Young Award Winners
    Hall of Fame Inductees
    Trade Deadline Deals
    Baseball Lore
    MLB All-Star Game

gameshowmaniac, you won the toss backstage, that means you'll go first. Pick the first category.

Matt Vasgersian: No, sorry. Rivera was MVP in 1999. Now, since there are still 11 answers up on the board, samoson can attempt what we like to call 'The Big Inning'. This only occurs after a player has missed a question during an inning. Now, if you go for the 'Big Inning', you must supply at least 4 answers to the question. If you do, you'll receive 2 runs for your score. If not, you don't score. Remember, a 'Big Inning' can only be attempted once per game. So, samoson, do you want to attempt the Big Inning?

    samoson, are you there?

Okay, I'm going to need a replacement for samoson. Who wants to play Baseball IQ?
