Cool token games can be fun after all :)

I was as grumbly as most when GSN introduced Token games a few months ago. I wasn't going to play those games i said. and then GSN offered me oodles to play some of those games. And so i did: gladly. While i did finely use some of my tokens i also won quite a few. I can consistently win more than i bet in a couple token games. my total tokens are up and sometimes way up when i finish. this afternoon i won over 60,000 tokens playing Tiki Slots. This figure is what i was able to win minus what i bet to get it. I've noticed a big bet would give me a big pay off. It's fun to see my number of tokens go up. at present i have over 400,000 tokens. I play Tiki Slots and Wheel of Fortune Slots mainly. Sometimes' Under the sea slots. Every day when i log in i get tokens. So I've not had to buy any and i have steadily amassed more. I love GSN and the opportunity to win prizes and have some quality personal time with your games. thanks for the change. sorry i was grumpy about it.

Its amazing how one's mine adapt to CHANGE....not bad at all since some of us are NOT losing any MONEY over this fun entertainment -

I actually was surprised when my attitude towards token games changed so radically. Since I was outspoken about token games when they began, I thought it only fair to be outspoken about changing my mind. I really enjoy playing GSN games. I do this for fun and some of the token games are fun. I also like getting 'buy it nows' so earning oodles for playing a certain number of token games is rewarding also. Thanks jus4hugs.

The problem for me was never the games themselves... yes, of course they are fun. It was just (and still is) what do you GET for it? There is no incentive to play the Casino games except to "win" more tokens to..... play more Casino games. There's no thrill for me in winning tokens because they are of no value. Although, oodles are fast catching up to that.

Anyway, I'm sorry to be a wet blanket. I'm sincerely happy that you are having fun, mixter. I do enjoy myself when they have a promotion featuring the Casino games. They are a lot of fun!!

But the reason for the grumpiness for the change is still valid. They didn't just install a new Casino.... they hi-jacked Oodleland AND Deal or No Deal and Double Trouble to put in the Casino. Those were oodletunities that were TAKEN AWAY. That was what the outcry was about. Nobody would have batted an eyelash if they just put in a new Casino with tokens... it wouldn't have made any difference. But they made it so it was an "either/or" situation. Of course, I've adapted but I'm still not happy about it when I'm reminded of it (as evidenced by my rant here).

I agree squshmar about Oodleland being taken away. I'm just trying to make the best of what we have now. I miss the extra oodles i got then. sorry if i was too much of a pollyanna. good luck every day. I always enjoy reading your posts. you are such a thoughtful and helpful person.

I"M sorry if I sounded at all harsh... I've adjusted too to how things are (I'm still not happy about the utter lack of buy-it-now prizes, though). And like I said, I do enjoy very much the promos they have for the Casino games. I have a lot of fun playing them. I'm thinking this week they'll have something for the new Speakeasy Solitaire... I haven't tried that one yet.

Thanks for the kind sentiments...Right back at ya!

I have tried the Speakeasy Solitaire. Just be careful to be sure to adjust your wager to what you want. When I played the first time, I had a senior moment and forgot to do that. I wagered 260,000 for my first bet. Needless to say, I lost 160,000 of that. And, that was only one game. I haven't played it since. I had started with a little over 500K tokens. Went down to 340K something. It sure wouldn't take much to lose all of your tokens.

Of course, when you play the game, the amount they want you to wager is according to how many oodles you have. In my case, the game wanted me to wager 50% of tokens that I had. I definitely will play the lesser amounts allowed on this game.

mixter, you are right in what you have said about squishmar.

Now, let me put my 2 cents worth in here. I like the casino games, as an entertainment, but I am still upset about the oodles and not having the buy now prizes that we used to have and many of us were saving for. I also miss the interaction with gsn live. I have amassed lots of tokens now, and use them to play the promos for more. GSN promised us the opportunity to win more. I don't see that that has happened. Also, I donate quite a bit of my oodles to the ACS and they have cut back on how much you can donate. The highest amount is $10, and you cannot do more than one at a time and 10 days in between. You use to be able to donate $50 and then you could also buy the $25 donation at the same time, or $50 donations twice. This is a big drop. Still, I like you have not bought tokens. I WILL NOT buy tokens. Due to cancer wiping out our savings, my husband and I live strictly on social security and money is very tight now, as everyone knows.

But congratulations on winning large amounts consistently. I am not that lucky. Maybe that is why I prefer the oodles.

    Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for the nod, Flora! You are one of the brightest spots on these boards!

And thanks for the heads-up about the pre-set amount on Speakeasy Solitaire. I will definitely be extra aware when I finally get around to trying that game!

squishmar, thank you so much. You just made my day for me.

Sometimes, I feel that everyone will consider me very opinionated, but I do feel strongly on the subjects that I come off that way. I love these boards though that allow all of us to ask for and receive help with the games, also allowing us to voice our opinions on various subjects, and just to interact in general. I thank GSN for this. (Even though I don't agree with them most of the time).

You have a wonderful day my friend.

thanks squishmar i've tried the speakeasy solitaire and it's fun: if it loads. there seems to be a program glitch. many of us have lost our token bets because after placing our bets the screen goes black and you just hear the music. i've found if i play that game first before any other game i can play again and again. or if i've been playing the other games if i restart my computer & log on to GSN and go to the game i can also play as many times as i want. but if i go there after playing other games i can play one game or sometimes not even one game with out the black screen. Hope they fix this i like the game.

i understand flora1941. I also exist on social security. I like the buy it nows to use as gifts for friends and grandkids. The amount available has gone down since i became a member and I wont be a member for a year until this May. Also the amout of Oodles has gone up for the items the Mrs. Fields cookies seem to go up 5,000 oodles every time i get them. They are great for tea parties i have with my grand daughters. I usually only play token games when you can win oodles for playing them. I have had some luck in winning them but not always. thanks for your input.
