    Break out your bible!

Because GSN is starting a new series called "The American Bible Challenge". Take a look at the press release. *The corporate press release was released around 9am this morning.

GSN originally started this idea back in May of 2011, but never went through with it. Now, this looks like why they were talking about back in May. Today, this was another decision made by Amy Davis.

For me, let's see where this goes. Doesn't sound like the best idea for the network, but I said the same thing about Jerry Springer coming to the network. Honestly, GSN corporate just sees this as a rebound after bad ratings of Dancing with the Stars.

What the hell? I thought April fools wasn't for a few months

Well let's go from talking about (What is your husband's favorite sex position" to "How many times did people complain to Moses"

Yeah, good luck with this. You'll need it.

At least it seems to be a game show, and this might be interesting to see just how many people do know their Bible.

You have got to be joking me. GSN is actually considering a game show that focuses on religion?

The last time I read the bible was ... let's see... never?

And the last time I did anything with religion was in 2008 when I was taking my Grade 12 Religion class... and even in there, it was more about philosophical discussions on life in general rather than discussions on religion. We never even touched a bible in that class, let alone read through one.

First off, you're opening Pandora's Box here GSN, since you could potentially offend different people of different religions, especially with regards to the questions asked during the program (if it is a quiz show).

Secondly, all that comes to mind when I hear "bible game show" is a boring program with a host that has the dull-bladed humor of Reverend Lovejoy on The Simpsons.

Sigh... I will give it a try since it is supposedly a game show, but it's not looking too appealing to me at this point.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll record it and see how well that it goes for GSN.

So what? How often you have read the bible makes no difference. You know how many times I've played a slot machine or cards? Zero. It doesn't mean I think The Joker's Wild or Card Sharks were a bad idea. And if the questions are based on whats in the bible and not what some interpret it to say then what's to get offended over? The only ones who would are those looking to be so. All that said, I doubt I watch it.

That's the good news. GSN is at least working to bring back their originals. Hopefully soon they'll finally show again the remaining 60 episodes of Baggage season 3, the remain 28 episodes of Sherriwed Season 5, and possibly a new season of Lingo.

Didn't notice when the bible show will premiere. The press release didn't say.

I am so sick and tired about worrying about what I do or say being offensive to some one. I am absolutely sure that any and everything I say will be offensive to someone.

The Bible is a book that I and many others believe to be the word of God. Even if some people do not agree with us, it is still a part of history. Nothing would be said if it was about a book from some other religion. The United States was founded on the JudeoChristian beliefs. Even though there has been a select group that objects to anything to do with God.

It is beyond me how a minority group can and will interfere with our rights of mentioning the word God on a public forum.

God bless you one and all, and I mean that with my whole heart.

Just to clarify, I'm a Mormon, not atheist. But they (atheists) get very upset over litlle religious things. If I want to see religion on TV, I watch BYU channel, or hope a bible category appears on Jeopardy!
