Thread: Hi!

    Red face Hi!

I don't care if this annoys anyone seeing as how this is a board for discussing game shows, any news on whether GSN acquired rights to more Press Your Luck Episodes? Or maybe bring back what they had seeing the same amount of time worth of episodes of whammy is still running. I do believe if they did this they would be getting ratings through the roof.

This is not annoying but so far as anyone knows there is no acquiring of old PYL.

I doubt GSN would pick up any old Press Your Luck episodes soon

    What about it?

i doubt too Lingofan97, because if they did re-acquire the "classic" episodes of PYL they would probably going to rerun the (1984-1985) package again anyway.

Can GSN show it again or no and, did it do well?

Monty's LMAD did used to do well. And no, GSN probably can't show it. Similar to the reason they can't air TPiR. CBS doesn't like older (or even current) versions of their game shows running on other networks. It disappeared off the schedule around the same time that the new LMAD started.

Oh. It was only an idea and so was the GSN showing Drew's early TPIR.

They would've done well in the ratings, don't you think?

GSN should lease modern seasons of The Price is Right. Could do well and it would attract a different audience to GSN. Late afternoons (5pm) could be a good airtime for it.

Good idea. Did Hollywood Squares do well?

Its not a matter of if they should, apparently they CAN'T! That's like me saying TBS should air NFL games live during the season. They can't do it, the NFL has an agreement elsewhere and won't allow it. GSN can only "should" do things if they actually can do it. If those in charge of TPIR, LMAD, and others refuse to allow it then there is nothing GSN can do.

I'm sorry, I didn't know about the agreement.

I didn't know about that little piece of information about The Price is Right. And as far as I know, Hollywood Squares didn't do great. That's why they took it off. It was placed in a weekend slot at 9am in early 2011 after being taken out of many other slots, and then from there they took it off for good. I'd like to see it come back though. Same thing with Love Connection, but that bombed too.

I see. Did Child's Play do well? It hasn't been on GSN in 4 years.
