    Notes:

    • Maybe block scheduling is good. Family Feud pulls big numbers on Monday Night.
5th Grader did decent in pretty much all slots. Hey, this show works.
    • DWTS pulls OK numbers on Saturday nights. Let's forget about the other slots.
    • Perry's Card Sharks and The $100,000 Pyramid are the greatest combination in mornings. 252K in the 10:00am hour. Match Game 74 at 11:30am did OK, but Eubanks in daytime just doesn't work. Try Pyramid or something else.

    Block Averages:

    Feud Mondays - 442K
    Newlywed Game - 332K
    Baggage Wednesdays - 254K
    Deal Thursdays - 346K
    Dancing Fridays - 217K (second set 128K)
    Dancing Saturdays - 241K
    5th Grader Sundays - 462K

The fact that Dancing's ratings have improved two weeks running isn't a good sign; they might get encouraged to run it even more!

Overall, though, very respectable numbers for the week.

Wow, 21 shows over 400,000 viewers - All Family Feud, Fifth Grader, and Newlywed except for 1 Deal or No Deal.

Monday was a great day all the way around.

Personal favorite, Whammy! is doing great... Even on Sunday at 10AM it had 326k viewers, and Saturday at 10AM had 300k. The 9:30am airings are over 200k, too. Both days it did over twice as good as Jeopardy at 9AM.

We've all said it before, and we'll say it again - Cut dancing back to a single night (Saturdays) and do away with all of the reruns, they aren't doing anything for the network. Saturday afternoons with actual game shows are in the 400,000's while sunday afternoons with DWTS are below 200,000.
1 vs 100 at Noon on Sunday had 250,000 viewers, Dancing at 1PM had 103,000.

Wow. Great numbers. And so...unexpected. After weeks (months!) of unspectacular ratings, and nothing too different from the recent past except for DWTS which is no great shakes, I'm happy...somewhat...but mostly confused. What led to the increase?

All those shows over 400,000 viewers are just great. There were a couple weeks where 400-450K was the top 5. GSN has had a ratings improvement this past week.

The weekend numbers (excluding DWTS of course) are turning out really well. Whammy! always does great weekend mornings, even at 9:30am. The Saturday afternoon schedule 1-6pm should be exactly the same on Sundays, except O'Hurley Feud from 3-4:30. Dancing with the Stars does it's worst on Sunday afternoons.

I gotta say those numbers are not bad at all. Even DWTS improved which was unexpected this late in the game. I really expected the worst out of all this with the network being in such a rerun abused state but you really have to look at these in a whole new light and hand it to the viewers for sticking with it. I've been watching weekday morning classics (excluding Family Feud) regularly now myself so if GSN can hold on to these numbers for a while longer until new series/acquisitions come around, they've got it made.

One more point: With such amazing Family Feud ratings for Monday, I can only imagine how high they might go if they get the 2009 season and beyond.

We're still waiting for the 2009-10 season at least. Soon hopefully
