    Angry Another wrong trivia answer!!!!

The Trivia question at 8 pm tonight... Asks Which of these is NOT one of Aesop's Fables?

    The Dog in the Manger

    The Boy and the Filberts

    The Sparrow and the Lemon

    The Ant and the Dove
They CHOSE: The Sparrow and the Lemon

I went to WIKIPEDIA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesop's_Fables and it clearly says: Fables wrongly attributed to Aesop

    The Bear and the Gardener
Belling the cat (also known as The Mice in Council)
    The Blindman and the Lame
    The Boy and the Filberts
    Chanticleer and the Fox
    The Dog in the Manger
    The Elm and the Vine
The drowned woman and her husband
    The Fox and the Cat
    The Gourd and the Palm-tree
    The Hawk and the Nightingale
Jumping from the frying pan into the fire
    The milkmaid and her pail
The miller, his son and the donkey
    The Monkey and the Cat
    The Priest and the Wolf
    The Scorpion and the Frog
    The Shepherd and the Lion
    Still waters run deep
    The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
SO, I CHOSE The Dog in the Manger
And they MARKED it WRONG... ACTUALLY I could have chose "The Boy and the Filberts" too as it is on this list too!!! WONDER WHY they keep doing these that the answers are incorrect? I emailed them and lets see what they say!!! REALLY BUGS ME AND guess there is a reason why they are saying that only 50% of the people are getting this right!!! OH PLEASE some one give us some questions that have the correct answers! NOTHING like actually taking the time & looking the correct answers up and then getting GSN to tell you that you just got the correct answer wrong!!!

my guess was also "incorrect", but i emailed help@gsn.com and explained it to them, even linked a reference page to back up my answer. i hope my oodles are credited.

Where was your reference page? Was it different than mine? Wonder why they keep using questions that have so many "CORRECT" answers???? Are we suppose to GUESS which ANSWER they want when there are MORE THAN ONE??? I never saw their 'answer' ANYWHERE!!! It ticks me off when we have to then FIGHT with them to get them to give up the Oodles! AS I stated (in my first Post) I too EMAILED them and gave them ALL the Information listed above so I hope they give me the 50 oodles too... I wonder if anyone else will try to get GSN HELP to give back their OODLES? IF there are 50% getting this wrong.. they can use my LINK listed above... The CONTENTS OUTLINE (In BLUE) At the top of the page on that link, shows right where the Correct answers are on that page of Wikipedia. it says: CONTENTS: 7.1 Fables wrongly attributed to Aesop

I agree Rose, & Oodles are hard to get! Oh! & How about THE SAME EXACT 10 people EVERYDAY with the top ten scores in Straws? I have played it everyday, done the loops , but can never get anywhere near those scores, but in their prize collections, you will see very valuable items, believe me!

Well, I did not get an answer from them.. BUT I do see that they Awarded me the 50 oodles!!! IF you want to get your's Use my Info above! Copy & Past or use the link and give them the info.. If was awarded to me very quickly this time! YEAH!

Google searches say Tiger, and since Liger isn't a choice, it's not wrong. Most people have never heard of a Liger as it's a manmade crossbreed.

Tigons and Ligers have been a NATURAL EVENT for a VERY LONG TIME... It's only more recent times that MAN has been trying to bred them on Purpose. When the Asiatic Lion was prolific, the territories of lions and tigers did overlap.

According to wiki: "there are legends of ligers existing in the wild." Again, as it wasn't a choice in the answers to begin with, Tiger is not incorrect.

Well, I hope that they never ask which is the largest DOG breed (as which ones are not MAN-MADE, cross-breeds!) ALSO, don't remember seeing in the question, that the answer was to be NON-"MANMADE", Domestic or Wild! BTW: I sure would not believe everything written in Wikipedia! Have a good one Angel.

Yeah, Wikipedia is unreliable at best sometimes. I sincerely hope GSN isn't getting information from there for their trivia questions. To do so would be completely irresponsible, and there's no arguing that.

    1. Every time someone complains about a wrong answer, their first go to is Wiki (like the original post in this thread). It's hard to argue it's a bad source when it's used to dispute our answers. I agree it's unreliable sometimes, but it's NEVER my only source when I do research on anything. A number of sites say Ligers have not been recorded in nature, including bigcat.org and ligerworld.com.
    2. No, we do not use Wiki. A group of 6 or so meet once a week during our lunch hour to submit the questions and answers each of us have created during the week. We do this on our own time. None of my questions have had wrong answers yet, but I'm sure the time is coming.
    3. We're trying very hard to provide correct answers, as well as correct wrong answers, but bottom line, we're as human as the next person. We do it because we know people enjoy trivia. We credit the time when there are wrong answers, but frankly, complaining about answers that weren't even included is going a little far. If a Liger had been a possible answer, the complaint would be valid. As it was not, then Tiger was the obvious choice according to Google searches.

Thank you for providing those answers. I think what's most upsetting to people (in my opinion) is that there seems to be a rash of incorrect answers/poorly worded questions/questions with more than one possible answer as of late. People just get frustrated with that, especially since the oodletunities have been severely reduced in the past couple of years and the Buy It Now prizes are basically nil.

I totally agree. I find the rash of incorrect answers upsetting too and have brought it up to the group as a whole. And why I live in mortal fear of one of mine being the bad one

Fear is not good especially when it's over "NON-LIFE threatening" problems such as trivia QUESTIONS... I got the answer (Right according to what GSN wanted!) Just raised the issue because as others have Pointed out, there have been SO MANY questions that either had the wrong Answer, Had more than One CORRECT answers or even an INCORRECT because it was was based on 'OUTDATED' information! I would just like to see questions that have ONLY ONE CORRECT ANNSWER!... There are places on the internet to get 'ANSWERS' already inline with what GSN wants(FACTUALLY Correct of not!)... I would rather do the 'digging' & learning, myself... But from now on maybe 'using' the Cheating sites is what is needed and then I get the answer that GSN wants. That way, I won't have to email GSN Help to get the points that I should have received for the correct answer! The question that I opened this thread with(on Fables) I went to WIKI because that is where I figured the Question Originated from & The answer was there... so was it right or wrong???? Who knows when there are so many UNFOUNDED possibilities that were contributed to the Author! When I found the 2 answers... I searched for them on GOOGLE and found that there were so many 'undocumented' Fables that were written as coming from Aesops but not PROVEN! I will now put this matter to rest, thanks Angel.
