the "worst" Pearson/Fremantle classic game show revival of all time

well as you already know Fremantle is securing the rights to Name That Tune to come back to television soon after a 27 year absences but their are alot of questions that need to be answerd will this format survive a 21 century makeover, who will host the revival, will be on network primetime or daytime or will it be in syndication, will it use the "classic" format from the 50's, 70's, or 80's and will people like it. well.. all that i can say about it people is that only time will tell, now when it comes to Pearson/Fremantle reviving "classic" game show formats some have still life support in their systems (ex:TPIR/FF/LMAD) while others had suffered from the one or two season punch from network or syndication mostly the latter so that why i'm going to do a poll on the worst Pearson/Fremantle classic game show revivals of all time, their will be 7 shows on this list that only survived for 1 or 2 seasons and you gotta vote for them

Best to worst in my opinion of the shows that I know up there

    Best
    Million Dollar Password
    Card Sharks SYN.
    Whammy! (GSN)
    Match Game 90's
    Worst

...and have honestly not heard of the other three, so they must have been bad.

The worst was Card Sharks '01

The best, in my opinion, was To Tell The Truth. At least that stayed true to the format of its predecessors! Plus, it had Kramer from Sienfeld as the host!

I honestly don't know why I watched more than one episode of Temptation. Cringeworthy material right there.

Having seen all but Beat the Clock and Temptation, I will say that none of the revivals came close to being as good as the originals.

no offense ThisIsJEOPARDY, but i think you mean "Plus, it had J.Peterman from Seinfeld as the host!", not "Plus, it had Kramer from Sienfeld as the host!"

    in other words:
J.Peterman was played by John O'Hurley (who actually hosted the 2000-2002 syndicated revival of "Truth")
Kramer was played by Michael Richards (never hosted a revival of "Truth")

Not a fan of The Whammy. Contestants were too loud and the prizes sucked. It didn't help on the very first episode an actor/comedian appeared on the show. Todd Newton acted like the stereotypical game show host you would see on those DVD games.

I didn't think Temptation was brutal. My only problem was the lack of male contestants. Other than that, it was a good pop culture trivia show with some overpriced deals mixed in.

On GSN's Whammy!, I definitely wouldn't say the prizes were bad. For 2002, that was a lot of money they gave away for a small cable network. A lot of contestants walked away with $20,000. If GSN were to revive Whammy! today, it would be more rare that someone would would win $3,000, $4,000 and $5,000 on one spin. Look how cheap 1 vs. 100, Chain Reaction and Catch 21 were. But then go figure that Newton probably came real cheap in 02-03, and still would now.

well i'm glad that i can be of service ThisIsJEOPARDY!

BTW: even though it was a popular NBC sitcom from the 1990's, i never watch Seinfeld.

also ThisisJEOPARDY, did Seinfeld started on NBC in 1989 or 1990?

Actually, MDP and Beat The Clock were both really good shows.

I was okay with Whammy! but I couldn't stand the stupid double whammy.

Card Sharks and Temptation were total turds.

Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
    Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21

are you sure about that lingofan97?

i was asking this because according to wikipedia and tv.com
they clamied that the Seinfeld sitcom started on July 5, 1989.

while imdb.com clamed that it started in May 31, 1990.

so i'm a little bit confused about this.

Out of all them, Card Sharks 2001 version was defintely the worst ever, they really destroyed a classic game, Mark Goodson & Gene Wood are rolling in their graves, jim perry, Bob Eubanks and Bill rafferty must be pissed.
I Hated this version, thank god at least ricki lake rescued card sharks with game show marathon.

Some of the items were or were priced too high. I think I heard $700 for a portable DVD player. $1,000 worth of luggage and almost 2500 for a laptop. Considering they never revealed who makes the products, they must have been bad.
