Shows that you used to love but now hate or shows you used to hate but now love

Has there ever been a TV show that you've watched that you used to think was terrible but you've grown to love it, or a show that you used to watch fanatically that wore on your nerves so badly that you walked away and never saw it again?

I want to see a few answers before I tell you mine because I have one that currently falls into one of these categories.

Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
    Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21

    Sesame Street.

I loved that show greatly, it was an obsession! It was useful for me in the 1970s, but in the 1980s, my obsession over such show was getting problematic, and was interfering with my priorities and school. My mother banned me from watching the show in October 1984, and ever since the ban was put in place, my love for the show instantly turned to hate in just 2 seconds.

And I have even more reason to not care for the show anymore - seeing that all the classic segments that caused me to giggle hyper-actively are gone, Bert and Ernie no longer appear together, Cookie Monster going on a diet in 2005, and the times are a changing. If not for my ban, I would have stopped watching around 2005.

Seeing I am soon going to be an uncle, I wonder what the chances are that my mother will recommend Sesame Street to her granddaughter, given my hyperactivity levels growing up? If not, maybe to my mother, the show is just a bad reminder of stress she had to deal with related to my massive obsession to the show. If I were married and had kids, I would recommend hands-on learning and not learning by way of brightly-colored Muppets made from shag carpet.

To be quite honest, I can't wait for Sesame Street to go off the air. And while the ratings are likely in decline, It's sad it's not going off the air any time soon.

Combs Feud - Looking back, Ray's hosting style wasn't that great. It sucked.
Phineas and Ferb - Started out cool at first, then got sucky
The Dukes of Hazzard - Used to live this show, then I got tired of it. Can't stand it.

I loved watching Judge Judy. I would never miss her show but now, it really doesn't bother me if I miss it. Too many of the same cases and dumb people.

ALright. It's time for three shows in each category.

    Shows I now hate

    1. The Simpsons
    YEAR: 1996
Reason: Disturbing amounts of male nudity, many of the jokes were repetitive and boring, and I just wore thin of it.

    2. My Name Is Earl
    YEAR: 2005
Reason: The first twelve episodes were incredible. The problem is the show didn't maintain that level of humor.

    3. Two and a Half Men
    YEAR: 2007
Reason: Some of the "jokes" used against Alan were demoralizing enough that I looked on in horror.

    Shows I Now Like

    1. Beavis and Butt-head
    YEAR: 2007
Reason: I initially hated this show because I saw it as glorifying two idiots. Only after watching "Office Space" and "Idiocracy" did I realize he was doing humor against that kind of thinking.

    2. The Commish
    YEAR: 2000
Reason: I never liked this show when it was on because to me, it resembled a typical cop show. But after a few years of not seeing it, I admit I missed it.

    3. The Big Bang Theory
    YEAR: 2012
Reason: I dismissed this show as a Two and a Half Men clone after one episode aired. The only difference was it was the nerds striking out instead of Alan. Upon listening to a few episodes and watching these, I've realized the show is much lighter in tone than Two and a Half Men and some of the lines there are actually funny, and not soul-crushing.

I almost hate watching shows on the television now, since it seems that commercials receive more airtime than the actual show!

I admit - I used to love Barney and Friends when I was younger. Not only did I wind up outgrowing the show, but when I outgrew the show, I found that I hated the later seasons. I still like the classic classroom episodes, but as soon as they moved to the park and caboose, that's when all novelty wore off.

Really? I never knew that. That was the biggest surprise on this list.
