Shows that you used to love but now hate or shows you used to hate but now love

Has there ever been a TV show that you've watched that you used to think was terrible but you've grown to love it, or a show that you used to watch fanatically that wore on your nerves so badly that you walked away and never saw it again?

I want to see a few answers before I tell you mine because I have one that currently falls into one of these categories.

Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
    Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21

    Sesame Street.

I loved that show greatly, it was an obsession! It was useful for me in the 1970s, but in the 1980s, my obsession over such show was getting problematic, and was interfering with my priorities and school. My mother banned me from watching the show in October 1984, and ever since the ban was put in place, my love for the show instantly turned to hate in just 2 seconds.

And I have even more reason to not care for the show anymore - seeing that all the classic segments that caused me to giggle hyper-actively are gone, Bert and Ernie no longer appear together, Cookie Monster going on a diet in 2005, and the times are a changing. If not for my ban, I would have stopped watching around 2005.

Seeing I am soon going to be an uncle, I wonder what the chances are that my mother will recommend Sesame Street to her granddaughter, given my hyperactivity levels growing up? If not, maybe to my mother, the show is just a bad reminder of stress she had to deal with related to my massive obsession to the show. If I were married and had kids, I would recommend hands-on learning and not learning by way of brightly-colored Muppets made from shag carpet.

To be quite honest, I can't wait for Sesame Street to go off the air. And while the ratings are likely in decline, It's sad it's not going off the air any time soon.

Combs Feud - Looking back, Ray's hosting style wasn't that great. It sucked.
Phineas and Ferb - Started out cool at first, then got sucky
The Dukes of Hazzard - Used to live this show, then I got tired of it. Can't stand it.

I loved watching Judge Judy. I would never miss her show but now, it really doesn't bother me if I miss it. Too many of the same cases and dumb people.

ALright. It's time for three shows in each category.

    Shows I now hate

    1. The Simpsons
    YEAR: 1996
Reason: Disturbing amounts of male nudity, many of the jokes were repetitive and boring, and I just wore thin of it.

    2. My Name Is Earl
    YEAR: 2005
Reason: The first twelve episodes were incredible. The problem is the show didn't maintain that level of humor.

    3. Two and a Half Men
    YEAR: 2007
Reason: Some of the "jokes" used against Alan were demoralizing enough that I looked on in horror.

    Shows I Now Like

    1. Beavis and Butt-head
    YEAR: 2007
Reason: I initially hated this show because I saw it as glorifying two idiots. Only after watching "Office Space" and "Idiocracy" did I realize he was doing humor against that kind of thinking.

    2. The Commish
    YEAR: 2000
Reason: I never liked this show when it was on because to me, it resembled a typical cop show. But after a few years of not seeing it, I admit I missed it.

    3. The Big Bang Theory
    YEAR: 2012
Reason: I dismissed this show as a Two and a Half Men clone after one episode aired. The only difference was it was the nerds striking out instead of Alan. Upon listening to a few episodes and watching these, I've realized the show is much lighter in tone than Two and a Half Men and some of the lines there are actually funny, and not soul-crushing.

I almost hate watching shows on the television now, since it seems that commercials receive more airtime than the actual show!

Family Feud: now i know most people (that is if you were born in the 70's ) grew up with Richard Dawson, sadly i'm part of the minority of the Dawson army because i was born in the year when Dawson's Feud on ABC and in Syndication ended, which was in 1985 but my first "Feud" host experience was with (BTW,Chameleonwhammy your gonna hate me for this one) is Ray Combs and i thought at that time he was awesome and the remake of Dawson's original '76-'85 set with the reds, blues, and yellows were awesome and colorful.

then theirs the 1994-1995 set were i think that was the first exposure for Dawson to me sure he was fat, the humor was funny but less topical at the time, 5 family memebers were reduced to four, the "Bankroll" game (need i say more), and the plexiglass set still it had a little bit of the reds and yellows from the combs era of the program but it wasn't that bad IMHO.

next is the 1999-2002 set where i did enjoy Louie Anderson as host i know most of you don't but i do,and it's set is one of my favorites sure the set screams warehouse but i lived with it.

2002-2006 Richard Karn era we have a ugly picture frame like survey board and family backdrops from '02-05 then we have a set from '05-06 like if some parts of the '99-'02 set and Cien Mexicanos Dijeron/100 Mexicans Said were mixed in a blender. now as for Richard Karn he sound bland and akwards sometimes but he didn't bother me that much as a host.

2006-2008 season waving goodbye to Al Borland and saying hello to J.Peterman a vast improvement over Karn's four year stint as the host but i will admit that Fremantle did their best at reviving the classic set from the days of Dawson/Combs but in a in-theater round style and the 2006-2008 color just werent doing it for me even when they borrowd the NBC's celebrity feud set from Al Roker from 2008-2010 but all in all O' Hurley was a vast improvement over Karn so i liked him.

2010-present what really killed my Feud viewing pleasure and Steve Harvey is the culprit of this henous crime... he reveales the answers from bottom to top after the "chance to steal" segment, his jokes don't make sense, he makes stupid faces and acts like he has never heard of that answer in his life, and he's act like a jerk to conestants, also he tries to make his own show more of a "bad" SNL skit instead of a game show.

and that why i stopped watching the Harvey era of "Feud" in 2010 because of the host. after giving him 6 chances to impress me he E-P-I-C failed me on all levels, now to you it may not be a problem but to me it is so until he gets replaced with someone who knows how to host game shows especially Feud i won't be coming back to Steve Harvey anytimes soon P-E-R-I-O-D.

I admit - I used to love Barney and Friends when I was younger. Not only did I wind up outgrowing the show, but when I outgrew the show, I found that I hated the later seasons. I still like the classic classroom episodes, but as soon as they moved to the park and caboose, that's when all novelty wore off.

Shows that my family and I used to watch but got bored with after a number of years included Roseanne, Cosby, Full House, and in the case of Seinfeld, the first and last seasons.

I'm a little bit surprised myself, as it's only happened in the last two or three weeks. But let me give you a rundown.

Mom has given up watching Two and a Half Men in syndication late last year. After five-plus years of watching the same ~90 episodes over and over and over again, it's wearing on her. How come it took nearly six years to do this is anyone's guess. So she started watching "The Big Bang Theory" at 7:30 at night. Then she started watching it 8:00 to 11:00 on TBS. I watched about 3 episodes when this show first came on, and thought it was a Two and a Half Men clone. Well, in order to be on the computer, I have to sit about 12 feet from the main TV, so I can't avoid listening to it, I actually heard a couple of lines and went "That was actually funny".

And on the 13th of this month, Mom actually said (I can't make this up) that I should like this show because it's "Barenaked Ladies" -- of course, you know my irritation with the band -- false advertising, but I decided "okay, fine. I'll give this show a try". and I sat and I had three good laughs.

Admittedly, the laugh track is pretty stupid. However, I am managing two or three laughs per episode, which is unheard of for a Chuck Lorre sitcom. I average about 1.5 - 2 laughs on an episode of Mike and Molly. I even deleted my stamp maligning the show on DeviantArt. Don't worry, the Two and a Half Men one will stay up forever.

    NBC's The Cosby Show (1984-1992) or CBS's Cosby (1996-2000)?

Same with me as well. Unless it's a current game show that has to do with Drew, Rachel, Amber, Gwendolyn, Manuela, and George. But other than that, today's TV is pure crap.
