GSN Advertising CBS Let's Make a Deal 500th Episode

I saw a commercial on GSN today (March 22, 2012 @ 12:54 pm ET) that advertised the special upcoming 500th episode of Wayne Brady's Let's Make a Deal on CBS. The commercial showed that about $500,000 in cash and prizes were up for grabs, along with the special 2-week event known as the "Super Deal". Hard to believe GSN is advertising a game show on CBS, but it's true.

I remember that they were showing Brady LMaD ads early on in the show's run as well. I do think this would be a good pickup for GSN. I don't know if Les Moonves is as protective of this show as he is of TPiR.

I have no clue why GSN is doing this, and also advertising DWTS Mondays on ABC. GSN doesn't even air Let's Make a Deal, and probably never will in the near future.

Just want to ask, when does the 500th episode of LMAD air?

It aired yesterday. There was a cake and confetti was flying everywhere.

First game, they gave this guy 3 things - a Cake, Curtain 1 and Curtain 2.

He gave away the Cake to a woman who chose $1,500 instead of keeping the Cake. She passed on the Cake as well, and missed out on a brand new car.

Then he gave away Curtain 2 to a woman who stayed with the curtain instead of taking the $1,500. She won the 2nd car.

Then he decided to take $3,000 instead of keeping with Curtain 1. He passed up on a 3rd brand new car.

And the woman at the end of the episode who gave up her exercise equipment for the chance at the Big Deal (and who wouldn't, since they're always trying to give away exercise equipment -- hint, hint, no one wants it), ended up with the lowest deal -- a computer and printer. So there was no Super Deal yesterday.

I've noticed this on GSN this morning during Super Password and Password Plus. The "Super Deal" commercials that is.

I saw one too - ironically, it was while LMaD was airing on my local CBS station. Surely GSN doesn't want people changing the channel, though I know it airs at different times in different areas. But hey, maybe this will pay off with GSN getting the rights to LMaD reruns.

We don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but I think Les Moonves is protective of TPIR because of models who were fired in the past and filed a lawsuit against CBS. Because of the "slap in the face" towards CBS by models such as Holly and now Brandi and Lanisha, CBS will likely never allow any network to air episodes with their appearances ever again. Not even after they die. There are thousands and thousands of TPIR episodes recorded, and at least 90% of the run is unairable because of the models' lawsuits, thus resulting in CBS refusing to allow any network to air TPIR reruns again. At least that's what I think.

It is sad and pathetic that past TPIR recordings are in the CBS archives, gathering dust, never to see the light of day on television again.

The show would do well for GSN in prime time
