How long ago did he stop announcing? It wasn't too long ago I thought. But then again, I don't really watch the show

technically Charlie didn't stop annoucing he was sick, very sick to be precise i remember two years ago when Johnny Gilbert from Jeopardy! was the fill-in for the week during their Wheel Loves L.A. shows.

so due to his death Charlie O' Donnell stop in 2010 and Jim Thorton started in 2011.

i hope this makes sense to you Lingofan97!

Charlie indeed was sick. It was intended, I think, to be a short term fill-in deal. But the first day Johnny subbed turned out to be Charlie's last (11/1/10). His death was announced on the Friday show, coincidentally the Caitlin Burke show (11/5/10).

Wow. Only a week long period that happened.

    And who's Caitlyn Burke?

She was the contestant who famously answered a puzzle ("I'VE GOT A GOOD FEELING ABOUT THIS") with only one letter on the board.

some people say Charlie died on October 31 (Halloween) while others say November 1 so i'm not sure which date that Charlie O' died.

As one who added it to Wikipedia, me and one or two other editors haggled on it a couple of days before settling on 11/1/10. Though I suppose either would be valid.

Oh, I do remember who that is and she was featured on GSN's "The World Needs More Winners" in 2010, which sadly is not shown on the network anymore

So are Melyssa, Melissa, Mellisa, Melisa, Mylissa, and Milissa. Including myself, I know women with 3 of the 6 spellings listed herein.
