Oh that wouldn't be on my list of top announcer duos
Wayne Brady and Jonathan Mangum for current LMAD. They are a pretty good duo, and funny.
However, Drew Carey and George Gray for TPIR definitely tops my list, though.
Honorable mentions go to Bob Eubanks and Gene Wood for Card Sharks, and Rich Jeffries and Bill Rafferty for the 1987 revival of Blockbusters.
I agree with Carey/Gray and Eubanks/Wood
is their a Stein/Kimmel in the house?
My Top Ten
1. Gene Rayburn/Johnny Olson (Match Game)
2. Bob Barker/Johnny Olson (The Price is Right)
3. Richard Dawson/Gene Wood (Family Feud)
4. Jim Perry/Gene Wood (Card Sharks)
5. Monty Hall/Jay Stewart (Let's Make a Deal)
6. Wayne Brady/Jonathan Mangum (Let's Make a Deal)
7. Drew Carey/Rich Fields (The Price is Right)
8. Drew Carey/George Gray (The Price is Right)
9. Peter Tomarken/Rod Roddy (Press Your Luck)
10. Pat Sajak/Charlie O'Donnell (Wheel of Fortune)
Honorable mentions: Bert Convy/Gene Wood (Super Password), Alex Trebek/Johnny Gilbert (Jeopardy!), and Dick and Jack Clark ($25,000/$100,000 Pyramid)
One of my favorites in the announcer from The Newlywed Game when Bob Eubanks hosted, and another favorite was the announcer from Carnie's second and third season, Randy West I believe.
Gene Rayburn and Johnny Olson, no question. And Johnny O was a riot the time he ended up on the panel!!!
What about some modern announcers. I liked Randy West from GSN's The Newlywed Game, and then the announcer from Wheel of Fortune (I forget which one; I don't watch regularly)![]()
