Anyone Ever Upgrade on World Winner?

I have done so many GSN Games of the week I have enough points to redeem for $100 AMEX card if I upgrade to cash. Any thoughts? It would be ironic that I havent won $100 worth of prizes on GSN but could on WW.

It is SOOOOO much easier to get points for something decent on WW than on GSN (sorry GSN). I can only assume it's because they are cash-based games and they get a little commission for each game.

i wondered about this too but i'm sure WW is not going to just hand out $100 gift cards in exchange for points. i'm going with the "if it sounds too good to be true" reasoning on this one.

It's absolutely true! Just be careful how much you deposit in the meantime. Remember, these are CASH games. However, they do run a lot of promotions so that you can boost your balance quickly.

i'd like to upgrade so i can redeem my points, but i'm afraid of there being hidden stipulations. I know to upgrade i have to put up a minimum of $10 (which i would gladly do for the $200 giftcard i qualify for), and i'm pretty sure my state allows it, but i'm still paranoid.

As a World Winner player who has played for YEARS, I will reiterate....there is NO catch. BUT you have to be able to control yourself. Since these are CASH games, you don't want to get carried away! That would be the closest thing to a catch you can get.
Oh! And it does affect your taxes. You will receive a 1099 reporting your winnings; however, they also break down your winnings and losses. So you would report your winnings as income, but offset it by reporting your losses, too. I've been doing it for years. This is the first year I have not received a 1099 because my net winnings were less than $600. Go figure! I have not received any tax-related forms for redeemed prizes, probably because they are less than $600.

The below is not completely accurate. I live in Arizona and I can participate, but it's limited. You can e-mail the Player Services at World Winner and ask for the rules on your specific states. I can play some cash games, I was allowed to redeem my points, but unlike some other people, I am severely limited in the amount of reward points I can earn.

I just recently got into amassing the World Winner Rewards Points... I wish I would have started a year ago! I only have 39,000 but am hoping to accumulate enough to redeem for a nice gift card and then I will upgrade (since I have to in order to redeem my points). I am just praying that the good prizes don't vanish before I have enough points. My only thought is that if they did disappear, then I would never upgrade so that gives me hope they might still be there for awhile.

What I still don't understand is why the Rewards Points are so much less for the same activities you do once you become a Cash Player. Right now, the Games of the Week are worth 3,500 Points and every month there are four games to play for 500 points each. Also, when GSN has a cross-promotion with WW, the points are so much more if you are NOT a cash player.

I just don't understand the reasoning behind this.

Probably because the original high reward points are given to entice you to become a 'cash player'. Once you upgrade (and assume that you got one of the rewards listed), they cant' afford to keep giving you the same level of reward points. It would be hard to stay in business. For example, before I upgrade to a 'cash player', I could usually get at least 500 to 3500 reward points for playing 'free' cash games (I would get oodles too). After I upgraded, the same types of promotions would only offer me 50 reward points. I would gather as many reward points as possible before upgrading.
