I'm getting tired of re-stating this. You don't get what I was saying. That's the point. The only successful game shows have come from either overseas or adaptations of ancient shows. And Lingo was also a Dutch game show in the '80s also.
If a programming executive didn't say "Hey, (this show from overseas) seems like a great idea to adapt". then guess what? You'd have never seen Millionaire or Deal or No Deal, or most of the other shows that you take for granted right now. They're the only things that have lasted longer than a season.
I've seen all of the shows I listed. As someone who has been around game shows for decades, I can tell you they would work here, provided GSN doesn't do the stupid thing and play them to death. You should sit down and watch those shows and then tell me how miserable they are, because I can tell you right now that The Chase is a more exciting game show than anything I've seen here in a while and The Cube pwns Minute To Win It 100 ways to Sunday.
Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21
If ABC, NBC, CBS or FOX wants to create a foreign game show like they've done in the past and have been successful, then they should go ahead. But GSN is not a network to find a foreign game show and re-create it, or even acquire it.
Classics:
AFV (trade DWTS to ABC Family)
Modern:
Merv Griffin's Crosswords
Wheel of Fortune (2 years removed).
Family Feud (O'Hurleys Final year).
Don't Forget the Lyrics (Brady ONLY not the syndicated crap).
I'm sorry but AFV isn't a game show.

Ahem... Does anyone really wanna see Blockbusters again? The questions on there are outdated I tell you. I loved the show but I don't think it would do well. Old classics without trivia questions would be better. Unless GSN wanted to remake Blockbusters and more of those old trivia game shows and modernize them. Personally, I'd have no problem with that if GSN wanted to. It would be worth a shot, IMHO.
Tic Tac Dough when it aired on GSN if I recall, bombed miserably.
This is all my opinion when I said "Does anyone really wanna see Blockbusters again?" I was just trying to make a point, so you know.
Its game showish. A couple months ago I said GSN should acquire it, but it reruns on several other TV networks. It would at least do better than DWTS in a Saturday night block if GSN could air it there.
Only Woolery Love Connection. That version was horrible. I looked it up.
So what if the Questions were outdated? Blockbusters is a classic show, don't you think?
