No surprise, but GSN has cut back DWTS on Sunday afternoon. Four hours this Sunday 4/8, three hours next Sunday 4/15. My guess is that all the Sunday runs are in imminent danger. The pdfs are on the blog.
As always, don't trust...well, you know.

This Sunday 4/8 O'Hurley Feud runs in the 5:00PM hour, after the four hours of DWTS. Next Sunday 4/15 it's two hours of O'Hurley at 4:00PM after the three hours of DWTS. The 4/8 changes are on the GSN online schedule.
Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21
This has happened before on Sundays. Previously they had stopped Dancing with the Stars at 5:30pm and showed the half-hour 5th Grader (one of the first two episodes). But, this could be heading in a positive way that GSN will revamp the Sunday schedule. Now, they're going to see something like this with ratings...
12:00PM 1 vs. 100: 220K
1:00PM Dancing with the Stars: 70K
3:00PM Dancing with the Stars: 100K
5:00PM Family Feud: 250K
5:30PM Family Feud: 300K
6:00PM 5th Grader: 300K
Instead of what we've been seeing in the past
I've already said that you were right and I was wrong about DWTS on GSN. Since it seems to make you feel good, I'll say it again. You were right and I was wrong about DWTS on GSN.Tell me all about how Dancing With The Stars will appeal to its target demographic again, Casey.
Also, with the Dancing with the Stars season finale airing on GSN Saturday, April 14th and the pdf's not printed for later in April, I wonder what will happen with the show after the finale. It will probably be gone Sundays and shortened a lot on Saturdays. I hope it will not be given a new slot anywhere else.
When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought DWTS was "gone gone" from Sunday. We've all been asking GSN to do this for weeks.
Of the show was doing well than I'd be in support of GSN airing the show 6pm-midnight Saturday and 1pm-6pm Sunday, but the show has been one of GSN's worst. Ever. Starting April 21st I would say 6pm-11pm AND NO LATER then on Sundays Deal or No Deal, Family Feud, and maybe some Sherri/Jerry.
I bet if another network such as Oxygen or Lifetime aired DWTS reruns, the ratings would be good.
It was a very poor fit for the network, regardless of what anyone says. If the ratings show viewers leaving in DROVES, then that's a pretty obvious sign. The reality thing has failed before, and it it is almost certain to fail again. They're best sticking with real game shows, and bringing back proven winners like the Passwords, and bringing in recent acquisitions like Harvey Feud...those were fantastic moves. Instead of blowing money needlessly on reality garbage, why not put that money into a decent, gameplay-based original or revival (in the vein of Woolery Lingo or Chain Reaction), and bringing back a real crowd pleaser like Wheel, which would bring great numbers. They're getting themselves in a position where the numbers are suffering, and they need to go back to basics, instead of going so far out on a limb that they alienate their core audience; the audience is wholeheartedly rejecting the idea of reality shows on a network like GSN. The ratings speak volumes about that.
I doubt Wheel will be returning soon, but I agree with you. The thing is, the top shows (as far as viewers) still are in the low end of the ratings spectrum, so they need to capture lightning in a bottle. That's tricky for any network, let alone one needing it badly like GSN. And this "tradition" of focusing on the anti-game show has been the MO of the current leadership for some time now, so the task is even more difficult.
To paraphrase Yogi Berra, "If people aren't going to watch DWTS, how can you stop them?"
