    Dancing gone for good?

I heard from Buzzerblog that Dancing With the Stars will be completely gone from the schedule starting the week of April 16th. The PDF is here (as Casey says, though, never trust them completely!). Thoughts?

You're in business if you really like Family Feud, that's for sure. Good to see Steve Harvey getting daily airings.

Yup, lots more Feud, but better than Dancing. These changes are pretty good. Gee, I never expected this show to leave this quick. Wow. Well, I guess expect the unexpected.

I don't think it's gone for good. They may be removing it for a month or two to recover from the overkill of it but then I expect it to be back in a smaller dose. Be it 1 night of 4 or 5 eps, 2 or 3 eps on a weekend, or even 1 episode every weeknight....that's a smaller amount and a more reasonable amount than what they have been doing,

You're right. Knowing how GSN operates, this isn't as bad as it could be.

DWTS disappearing is all well and good, but I'm not sure about the two straight hours of Feud on weekday afternoons. I think they should have put the Harvey hour at 7 PM daily instead - that slot needs more help than 5 PM, plus we already have enough extended blocks of shows from 7 PM to midnight and don't need another one in the afternoon.

That leaves to wonder: Can't DWTS get on another network? I believe Flashback Saturdays might be the cure.
Past Videogame Marathon champions: Michelle Wie, Rob Cesternino, Marie Digby, Quentin "Rampage" Jackson and ijustine.

You don't know GSN unless you click on this:

Everything about GSN in one big blog operation.

I completely agree with you. My guess as to why they put a Harvey hour at 5 PM is that they want a bigger audience lead in to the new episodes of Baggage & Newlywed Game on weekdays at 6 PM. But as you said, putting Harvey at 7 PM would have been a better move for sure. They could have found another show for 5 PM. I mean, seriously, what happened to shows like Greed, Weakest Link, Donny Osmond Pyramid? One of these shows probably could have done nicely at 5 PM - they all haven't been on the schedule for a few years at least.

DWTS I just didn't care for at all, so no complaints there.

Maybe whoever made the PDFs forgot to include DWTS in the schedule. I'm sure it will pop up again on the schedule. Maybe 8-9am in the mornings??

You gotta be kidding me. GSN would not put it on in 8-9am they are not that stupid. At least they better not be.

Probably more like 8-10am since most shows are two hours.

I wouldn't be shocked if they did just put it in dry dock for awhile and bring it back, though.

I have a better idea. Put all the tapes of those shows into a volcano.

Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
    Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21

I'm pretty surprised that they're dumping it so soon. They made us suffer watching Improv with similar, even lower ratings for several months, yet, dwts is gone after less than 2 months. It had more pre-promotion and hype than it lasted on the air. Perhaps there was a clause in the lease that allowed them to pull out of the deal if it didn't perform well?

I hope this means more Classics coming back to the schedule to fill in the missing places. I wouldn't mind seeing Card Sharks return for a Saturday evening Marathon, and what about B&W After Midnight on weekends?

I am a bit surprised myself. As you said, Improv got more of a run that this, and it didn't have the reputation Dancing has.

As for the sched, I seriously doubt they want any classics there. I think, at best, they might do something similar to what they did on Fridays after the "Flashback" block and before Pyramid became the block and rotate a GSN original in that slot. Otherwise, it'll be Feud.
