I know in some markets they do a re-run of Jeopardy and Wheel Saturday Nights at 7:00 and 7:30 but they could wait until 8 to start the block for that night and end it at 1 instead of 12.
Except that makes it 7 central, 6 mountain, and 5 pacific...up against the show in other time zones. Plus, theres no set in stone time in eastern for it to air either.

Even though they don't plan on airing DWTS anymore soon, they still hold the rights to the show?

Time for them to make that trade with ABC Family. AFV for DWTS.

Also didn't help things with Sherri having been given the boot.

Hopefully the witch (the show, not her) is dead and STAYS dead!

If GSN were to pick up Wheel of Fortune, odds are it will be weekday airings and not just weekend airings. This is normally the trend for GSN when it comes to shows owned by Sony that the network leases. Weekend airings may be possible after GSN went through one cycle of the leased season.

I agree that they should consider picking up the 2005-2006 season, or even better, the 2008-2009 season with the first and only $1,000,000 winner so far in the show's run.

Man, what an even worse bust than TAR! At least the Race got good ratings at first...GSN's going to feel from this one for a while.
    I'll be around.

Nowadays, Wheel of Fortune would have too many spin id numbers and ads to edit out. A mid 2000's season wouldn't be a bad idea, just like with Jeopardy! Speaking of Jeopardy!, they should acquire the season of that 74-day champion. It was the 2004-05 year I believe.

Modern Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! would make a good morning marathon on the weekends. They could both prove strong numbers from about 9am-Noon, but the schedule weekend mornings is almost* fine as it is.

*Shepherd episodes of NG should be changed to Wilson at 11 and 11:30am

They aired Ken Jennings run of of Jeopardy back from August-December 2008. They also aired the Ultimate Tournament of Champions too from December 2008-April 2009

This year I would acquire the Ken Jennings season, and keep airing the show 2am, take it out 9am possibly and add it in Saturday nights starting at 11pm for an hour or two.

Seriously doubt DWTS would be gone for good so soon since GSN put up so much for the show. Hope it's true, but would have to think GSN will eventually try to recoup some money. Think hiatus is a more likely scenario.

I don't want to think about a "hiatus" situation. Ratings were very poor, especially on Sundays. I wouldn't want the show to ever come back, not even in 10 years.

This makes me wonder what would have happened if Dancing with the Stars was a hit? How many more hours would it be added to the schedule? But I think this show is gone like Improv. They wouldn't just take it off and have a grand re-premiere.

But Improv was repeated about 25-30 times before they finally pulled it.

I'm not at all disappointed about this decision, just a bit confused, since it doesn't follow the typical GSN method that we're used to.

GSN methods, especially the past six months have been all over the map, especially with acquiring new classics (Password) and classics in prime time, which a couple years ago GSN thought wound never work. Obviously, GSN is all over the map right now.

Yes. The answer to that question.
Past Videogame Marathon champions: Michelle Wie, Rob Cesternino, Marie Digby, Quentin "Rampage" Jackson and ijustine.
