    Yesterday's Harvey Family Feud

On a first run episode Yesterday, the question was "Name a Job that requires you to be on your knees". Now back then, if the obvious answer was brought up, the answer on the board would probably say "Prostitute". But this is Adult Feud after all:

It seems the writers are going for answers that will get them more press on Youtube. Not a bad idea of course, but remember, you have kids watching and you are rated PG.

But Steve's response to the answer was pretty hilarious. "What kind of hood game is this?".

Does this mean Santa Claus's infamous laugh is deemed controversial nowadays?

I agree, "prostitute" sounds more politically correct, and always will be. I'd rather watch Richard Dawson's Feud way more than Harvey's version. Even better, I'd rather watch Ray Combs' version more, but sadly, it's no longer on GSN. But at least Dawson's kissing of female contestants doesn't offend me as much as the content on Harvey's version.

Uh, when they are using it to describe a Prostitute, it is controversial to be on "Family" Feud.

Yes, I guess this content being used defeats being called "Family" Feud.

Seriously, what's the point of calling the show Family Feud if it is no longer family-friendly?

    Then again, controversy does sell.

Ok, yes I agree the show goes over the line now and won't watch nor will I let my 7 year old watch because of it. That said, it's not now nor has it ever been called Family Feud because it was supposed to be family friendly. It's because there are 2 Families battling each other on the show. I'm sure I'm just stating the obvious but no need to have people thinking something that was never intended.

You mean "ho ho ho"? No, not on your life. (EDIT: When it's used to describe Santa, of course.)

Yes, and there was even one young boy on Louie Anderson's version who guessed a sexual body part to a question (it started with T, and had nothing to do with a female). The boy struck out, and so did the other player in the face-off. After both players failed, Louie threw out the question and went to a new question during that time. Yes, that goes to show that even kids sometimes utter answers that can be adult content sometimes - also goes to show how well-educated those kids can be sometimes.

Sign of the times, it seems.

I keep thinking they should tone Harvey Feud down but its getting its best ratings since it started in 1999. I say leave it

Gee, I guess we're gonna have to ban the "prostitution" episode of Dawson Feud, when Richard asked everybody if they had change for a ten. (A YouTube moment, by the way.) This Legion of Decency crusade against Harvey Feud is getting downright funny.

you know i also have a Louie Anderson Feud stories to share with you all, two of them to be precise

the first one back in 1999 is when Louie ask the question: Name a part of the body that gets bigger as adults get older and this black contestant named Freddie buzzed in at the infamous face-off podium said the P word and in no suprise it wasn't one of the top 7 answers on the board.

another one is from an NBA special (probably from 2000 or 2001) with Brian Shaw of the Los Angeles Lakers as the 2nd player when Louie ask the 2nd question during the Fast Money round: Name Something a teenage boy can do for hours at a time and Brian Shaw said the M word and the audience laughed in thinking that it was a stupid funny answer, but surprisingly enough 2 people agreed with that answer.

The two aren't even close in terms of racy and you know it. Did Dawson ever go around saying "Ho"? Did Dawson ever go around saying "Meat Missile"? Did Dawson ever go around saying "Sperm"? Did Dawson ever go around saying "V *****"? Did Dawson ever go around saying "Man Berries". All of these have been answers on this season of Family Feud. Even someone as close minded as you can't say that those aren't pushing the envelope on a Family oriented Game Show. If you had kids, would you want them to be hearing these kinds of answers?

Having the answer prostitute every 60 episodes is a lot different than having Ho said every other episode.

Yes, there were some "Crossing the line" moments on Dawson's era, but this season it has hone far over, every episode.

My favorite part about these clips is always the mock horrified look on Steve's face after hearing the most shocking answer on Family Feud since...well, the last time someone gave an answer on Family Feud. It was amazing the first few times people said outrageous answers, but now its almost like stock footage.

^ Agreed. I'm really one of the last people to ever complain about a risque moment every now and then, but this kind of stuff has been happening way too much lately IMO. And, no, the line was never reached this much, let alone this often on previous versions. Not even Karn and O'Hurley had this many type moments in such a short span of time. Not just that, but it starts to get old in general after a while on a show like this.

Steve is one of my favorite hosts of the show, but I'd rather they just let him host it naturally with simple questions other than just for the most part have questions obviously written just for the sake of him doing an O_o reaction most every time someone says something.
