I think you meant just the opposite. But when a smaller network like GSN gets a "hit", they do indeed splatter it all over. They're making hay while the sun shines. Even larger cable outlets run their hits ragged. History must have shown Pawn Stars 88 gazillion times by now. Lord knows how many times each ep of the relatively limited run has been recycled. That is how other cable networks work most of the time.
Networks like TruTv, A&E, Food Network and sometimes HGTV will get a hit and air the show 3 or 4 times a day
Or 20 times a day. But I sometimes enjoy watching shows like Storage Wars, and I might actually turn on the channel at 6:00pm, and it still be there at 3:00am. That's over 9 hours which is 18 episodes in a row! I'm glad they've decided to mix it up a bit, by sticking in a few episodes of the Texas version, and I enjoyed the Shipping Wars, even though it was a limited run, and each episode was repeated every week.
The only modern show I can see doing that on GSN would be Harvey Feud. I really enjoy that show. I probably won't be saying the same thing in a few weeks after all of the episodes have repeated a dozen times, but for now it's pretty cool.
I'm also the type that loves holidays to tune into each network to see what they have going for them. Like a 24hr Pawn Stars Marathon on History, or Diners, Drive-ins & Dives marathon on Food. Catch up on the episodes I've missed.![]()
If GSN has Card Sharks and $100,000 Pyramid in the promo for classics, and GSN likely no longer has the rights to air both those shows, what's the point of having such shows in the promos if they don't air anymore? Doesn't that seem redundant?
Maybe the promo with Card Sharks clips included might mean they may still have the rights to air such show - they probably just wanted to give it a rest for a while, until they possibly pick up fresh episodes. But take what I said with a grain of salt.
Perhaps this promo was made prior to the acquisition of Super Password and Password Plus; it is likely that when this promo was made Card Sharks and $100K Pyramid were still on the schedule. Unfortunately they didn't get around to airing the promo until now after the schedule change, and so technically it is false advertising, but it is not exactly the end of the world. The only show in the promo that is not aired at all anymore is Card Sharks. Sure the $100K Pyramid (which was in the promo) doesn't air anymore either, but they do air the $25K Pyramid, which is exactly the same thing for all intents and purposes.
For the advertisement for $25,000 Pyramid tonight, the announcer said "the $25,000 Pyramid tonight at 7" but the screen said
$100,000 Pyramid
Tonight 7/6c
Saw the promo. Basically promotes everything from 8am-4pm. Everything but the Passwords, Karn Feud and Catch-21 is in there.
I hope A&E renews Shipping Wars for a second season. It premiered to 3 million viewers. Not sure how the other episodes performed. It was a very short run - 10 episodes over 5 weeks. I was still shocked when I saw the Season Finale being promoted so soon after the Series Premiere.
Edit: Just found out they did renew Shipping Wars for another season. Source: http://seriesandtv.com/cancelled-and...eason-two/9290
